Nope, the nuance is important.

In his exit meeting, he said he wanted to play more midfield time. We couldn't guarantee that, so gave him permission to explore his options for more midfield time.

That in no way suggests that we wanted him gone or that we did not value him.

I'm not convinced it has the same relevance given we've encouraged him to explore options. Seems like we're going to be fairly accommodating

Just gave Kennedy away for nothing. Reeks of list mismanagement. We have players on our list that shouldn't be there and we trade this bloke just to get him off the books and open up a list spot. We already had the points to get Ben Camporeale. I hope Austin has a plan to trade the pick during live trading to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

And if he has a plan to trade does that mean that we didn't give Kennedy away for nothing?

2. We think a bid for B.Campo will come in the 40's (unlikely) so we can use 38 as a live pick
3. We will swap 38 with another club's future 2nd

On reflection, I think a bunch of clubs will come sniffing for 38–which will likely come into 34–come the second night of the draft. If Austin thinks a SOS will pull the trigger, he has the time early that night to make a deal with the clubs who don’t have second rounders in a deep draft.

The half back and half forward roles he was forced to play, and what we did in the elimination final, has obviously made him feel less valued. This was avoidable but it is what it is. We have midfielders in place and more coming in. Lord might get more games this year.

So just to clarify - Lions have two picks (27 and 34) and * have two picks (28 and 31) before our pick. They will be absorbed in matching bids for Ashcroft and Kako I assume? So 38 will become 34?
