Petracca will never leave Melbourne. Same with Oliver.

They seem to be non negotiable there. Both tried to get out this year, and Melbourne were having none of it.

Agree, neither will leave. They are on Tier 1 cash. Premier League style situation, they won't/can't leave and will be paid to play Xbox rather than be traded.

38 for Kennedy is fair, actually think its a good return given we asked for him to explore options.

If anyone thinks that we've lost him for nothing because the pick will be swallowed by a Campo bid - you haven't been paying attention. Austin has been making plans and then delivering on them.

Just need to nail pick 3 and this will be an excellent off-season.

I'll bet you a $1K each that neither will be there next year?

And $5K each that Petracca will be at Collingwood and Oliver at Geelong.

I'll bet you $20 you're an idiot.

Forum decides.

What speed have we added?

We've replaced an under-performing midfield crew with a potential 18 year old who might have good genealogy or might just have a bad back or might add to the group in 2030 whilst we are loaded up now.

Wasted opportunity.

Pleased with the mechanisations to get #3 but have wasted the opportunity.

REMEMBER - the objective is to win a flag. Something that the Pies recognise but we DON'T.

Win the trade?

So to a finals side we have added Pick 3, Pick 38, Ben & Lucas Campo, Haynes plus we will add some role players to fill gaps

Pick 3 could easily play from Rd One. The last 3 Pick 3s have been Walter Sheezel and Callahan. All played straight away and did well

We have lost no one that hurts us or can’t be covered

Massive improvement will come from fitness and development of Moir Lord Kenp Silvagni Docherty Motlop Binns Ollie and more

Bring on 2025. We are ready

Voss benched Kennedy to shake up our midfield. He played a quarter and a half nearly for 1 pressure act. Let that sink in!!! 1 pressure act in a final. Now that warrants subbing out imo.

If Kennedy wanted out because Voss benched him for doing fk all in a final, then that says more about him and less about Voss.

I like Kennedy and wish him well. But to lay the blame solely on Voss and not on Kennedy for his pathetic performance in a huge final seems silly imo

Im with you. I often commented that Kennedy went missing too much. For a guy that is so strong with that much experience i expected more. He was so slow too.

Dont get me wrong when he was on, he was like a barometer. But we didnt get enough from him. Didnt have the appetite or desire to throw himself around.

I liked him, but wanted him traded. I felt like a second round was fair enough. But its a shame that we need to do something with it so we dont use it for the Campos.

We could wait on the night. If a bid comes we can trade on the night. Otherwise we can use it.

Bloody SOS will 100% made a bid.

I suspect Kennedy wanted out because he seems to have been told at his annual review that he wasn't going to play in the middle. With players returning from injury and youngsters developing I think he's smart enough to know that he'd also struggle for a game anywhere so the best thing he could do was leave before he would be effectively scrapped next year.

BTW how many pressure acts did the whole bloody team have in that first half against Brisbane?

Not going to have a crack at you like some others will, but pies aren't going to win anything but wooden spoons for a long time. They will make Richmond look good soon. On the subject of us I also have zero faith in the current coaching group and several managers. Thank god we got rid of that peanut Russell finally although 2-3 years late. That's a positive. Austin has given up a lot to get pick 3.
Now he has to nail that pick. Nailing the pick is taking Draper, it would be good if he could not f this up.
Take Draper Nick Austin, simple as.
If he takes O'Sullivan be very afraid..probably take another sport i reckon is the go.

Petracca plays for Melbourne. Daicos plays for Collingwood. Petracca will not play with Daicos next year. LOL.

The guy who won the Brownlow already plays for us! Why does anyone we get in need to win the Brownlow?!

Again the draft hasn't even been held yet. How can we have failed at the draft?
Brownlows have never bee more worthily won 0 single-handerdly carries all.

However, consider that our midfield chasm is so wide that a midfielders award should go to the team with the widest chasm.

You are only thinking about one game. We were not at full strength or fit and I think playing injured players didn't help either. Brisbane also won the flag. Some people get upset about it but we were never going to win or have a decent chance of winning that game. You talked about beating the lower teams but didn't mention that we beat 4 of the top 5 teams this season.

Talking in circles Kingston and we are making different points.

You're talking about that our system got us to second and some great wins early/midseason and as a result of this everything is fine. I agree with your first part, but i think there is an impact of this style late season.

My point is different. I agree our system can get us to second by round 15/16 before we are cooked by the later rounds/finals due to the sheer crash/bash effort required to implement our gameplan.

Other sides are moving towards overlap, rebound non body on body transition while we are focused on being harder and hitting harder and drawing huge packs together of players. Which style of play leads to more injuries? Which style leads to more jaded players. Hawthorn late in season running hard but overlap handball while we crash/bash ur way forward.

IMO, we just need easier less body on body avenues to goals. We can model ourselves more on Brissy than Hawks given our player list. The change in avenues just has to happen instead of down the wing and big packs. We are only a few tweaks away if Vossy/MC can get to it.

I dont mind if you dont agree and see it differently as no one can be 100% sure they are right.

If we are looking to do some wheeling and dealing, I'd suspect we trade 38 down the order this year to allow us wriggle room up next years order (future 3rd for future 2nd or similar).

Near certainty.

Barring injury the top 5 will all play round 1,they’re that good.

I don’t think people get how good this top end talent is this year.

Generational draft.

I think most likely scenario is that St Kilda will bid on him at 32. In my opinion, out of being petty more than anything 🤣

I'm no SOS fan but I think those that think he'll make a bid through pettiness are selling him a little short, not gonna do his reputation any good doing that and don't forget he still has a son at our club.
