These two events do not need to be mutually exclusive. I am not suggesting the upswell has come from the media crucifixions.
I didn't even think that's what you were talking about.

My first thought was "Carlton respects" group or something like that

If this has caused a shift in our approach, can we assume Buckley is in play? We’ve thrown some names about here but hard to see where this “experienced” type is going to come from.

What an awesome photo/moment. Folklore of footy that stuff

Pathetic if true.

The media is just trying to beat up a story as it sells papers. It’s a big concern given that we caved to the Teague train and now feel under pressure about a potential coach choice again.

Clarkson is clearly the number 1 experienced candidate and if he is unavailable RTB is head and shoulders above those available. The only other coach in consideration would likely be Buckley (who is not available).

Why is Ross head and shoulders above other candidates after Clarkson?

I believe Luke Sayers, when he said that the club was by no means undertaking a claytons process. I'm comfortable that under his watch, the club will respect the value of a diligent process. Therefore, I find it extremely unlikely that the club would have reached a point where Ross was "all but over the line but for staggering up swell". Luke Sayers is far too professional and procedurally driven for that scenario to be real.

Was at the game and he walked straight passed me doing that. Was funny as fu** to see it up close and sums up his personality.
I'd wanted a Port/Brissy GF for a couple years.

As a young fella who hadn't had much experience not seeing Carlton in the finals in 02 and 03 I hitched my wagon to Port, the new guys.

The game is alot more professional these days which ahs brought alot of good changes but we won't really see moments like these anymore.

No i didn't agree with the 90% you just wrote a spiel on how hardly any would be. Making assertions that Walsh definitely wouldn't be etc.

Funny for you I've done nose beers with a fair few of them and in my own career with essentially the whole aussie team. Sportsmen sacrifice many many many things, but partying is rarely it.

'Any one who has taken hard drugs knows how depleted there body gets some elite athletes would hate that feeling'

Ummm........... I can't even here. I can share some stories via pm if you really want but I don't think you'll believe me if that's your base stance.
From the stories I’ve heard speed was used on game day by some in the 80s
I’ve got no doubt it’s a higher % than in the community as there natural risk takers and have more disposable income at no point did I say hardly any
Ide say there is a good amount that would want to be hooked up for every party night they could then some that would have some if offered and some that wouldn’t
Like I said I could believe 90% have tried it but doing it implies regular use that’s all I was questioning
Who knows Walsh might go full Al Pacino on the weekend I have no way of knowing but I have met characters like that that want to achieve there peak as an athlete and do EVERTHING from sleep to diet to achieve that
But ide believe and enjoy a pm story

I went to it because I wanted to be there if it the only side in my lifetime to win four premierships in a row.
But Lions ran out of gas, probably even before the game, but was great run of three in a row.
Anyway, guess I got to see other history of another club win their first premiership.

Am I the only one that feels Clarkson is still a possibility? Somewhere, somehow things are bubbling in the background and a change of heart may be beckoning.

Or am I just bullsh1tting myself :confusedv1:.
I think you having a lend of yourself but you not the only one from what I read here regarding Clarkson.
