Touch unrelated - but Stockers Instagram post talking about the club and his individual season was a breath of fresh air. Well spoken, grounded individual who isn’t afraid to speak openly. No media training necessary for that bloke. Call me crazy but I reckon he goes on ball next year and tears the competition apart. Just really strikes me as someone who could go to another level.
I think he's the 'White Collar' version of Frazer Brown...
Tough, Loyal, and ...Articulate (sorry Browny ;):p)

Probably an unpopular view but IMHO there was a healthy dose of self interest in Lumumba & Goodes claims and attention seeking and the extent of their claims has been vehemently disputed by others.

Whereas Eddie has been brilliant in highlighting the issues, the emotional & personal cost and dragging people along with him at the same time - absolute super star.

i.e. I take Lumumba’s claims against Buckley with a grain of salt - rightly or wrongly.
You couldn't be further from the truth re: Goodes.
It's the fun narrative used to white out a genuine issue.
If he were after attention, as a multiple time brownlow medallist, he'd have his pick of cushy media jobs, instead in the aftermath of his career he's more or less gone to ground & distanced himself from the game. Ie. The polar opposite of what you're claiming.

Not sure the relevance of Eddie to questioning the authenticity of Lumumba or Goodes claims.. but I'll bite, Eddie has undoubtedly been great but he never copped the level of public vitriol that Goodes did.

Gerard Healy just called us a mess again on on the couch ... what’s your problem bro?! lol
Contract negotiation technique, the more of a mess it is the more you can get.

Also works for him later to get other appointments “Carlton was a mess, you can see it by watching my comments on “On the Couch” now look at them I did that being on the coach selection panel”

Problem with Goodes was he didn't shy away from the game and threw in some serious dirty shots on blokes - fair enough everyone does it. But the media pretended he never did anything wrong which was just rubbish - riled people up. Goodes played hard as anyone.

Personally I couldn't stand they way he went that girl who called him a gorrilla - just hate seeing kids getting called out like that.

Betts is a fence builder, a fence mender - he brings people together to solve problems and try to end racism - Lamumba is running a campaign and clearly feels hard done by and its about him.

Goodes had the right things to say and people listened to him and the media just behaved like morons - just be honest for once in your life.

Good bloke, great footballer, calling out racism sometimes did stuff the fans didn't like.

From there it just spiraled and no one would back down.
