Lmao I thought Liddle would survive this Review (note: I did not want him to)

I actually really believe this Review is legit now.

edit: reason being easy to look at Liddle's commercial wins and successes. They've gone deep in relationships and influence.

Can you imagine Matthew Lloyd if SOS took Brad Lloyds role?

As much as I love SOS bringing him back would show what a joke of a club we are

No, it would show we have reviewed, acknowledged and owned our mistakes. We've never done that before.

Spot on, walked out shattered both games back onto the bus, train then tram back home to drown my sorrows..

Both games at VFL Park
Melbourne knocked us of in the Qualifying final Schwarz and others tore us a new one by 27 points…

Geelong in the Semi final missing Couch Hocking Bairstow Mansfield again tore us a new one by 33 points…

Aaron Lord’s one blinder... was a complete non-entity but for one game in 94

Schwarz was something else before he did his knee a couple of times. Thought he could have been as good as Carey. He destroyed us that day.

My biggest concern is he did so with an ultra defensive gameplan.

After losing the GF in 2015 to Hawthorn, it was well publicised that Lyon wanted to move with the times and be more attacking. He recruited Hale and Guerra from Hawthorn to help with this.

From that point Freo did not finish higher than 13th. And the AFL rules have since changed to favour attack even more like lower bench rotations, stand on the mark and players able to run out of the goal square.

So, I think my concern is warranted that Lyon may not have the ability and know how to implement a successful gameplan in today's game.
No coach (or boss) is going to get things right all the time.

I'd take the may not over the recent does not every day of the week.

So ... same same? You don't think longevity over 30 years in 3 different aspects of a footy department holds any weight compared to Lloyd's experience? They're exactly the same?

You'll perceive it the way you want to perceive it I guess, and you'll be amused by what you want to be amused by. All of these things can be presented in a way to confirm our own opinions.

Yes i will be amused IF the same posters who castigated the Lloyd FM appointment on the basis that he had no FM experience, turn around and celebrate a SOS FM appointment.

And you well know that was the line taken. "Shocking mates club appointment with no experience in the role".

Other than pointing this out, i really hope whoever is at the club next year succeeds. Because by cripees, everything is on the line. I really like our list. It is perfectly placed. It just needs some competence around it. And Teague certainly didn't end up being that.

From 2016 onwards the Dockers list was in transition as great players retired and Fyfe getting injured which just goes to the point that any successful coach needs a good list.

You could also say the same about Clarkos last few years.

Defensive game plan just meant he put a lot of effort into limiting the oppositions ability to score, not his team. Isn’t that exactly what we’ve all been wanting Teague to do?

I also assume that’s a typo in that Freo made the 2013 grand final and 2015 they were on top all year then had a bad run with injuries and lost at home to Hawthorn in a preliminary final.
