Hate umpiring inconsistency and reckon AFL needs to stop ******* with the rules to improve consistency but the fact remains:

Yeah. I don't understand the factions well on the Board. Clearly Loguidice was part of the Mathieson faction (Mathieson and Loguidice own a media tech business together). Its also interesting with the appointment of Lahra Carey. She sold her business to the Mathieson / Loguidice business, and now works for them. I don't know whether Sayers belongs to a different faction

Logically the Brian Cook leak would have come from a fellow Director. If a decision involves hiring / firing a CEO, this responsibility sits entirely with the Board. I don't see that it benefits the club for it to be leaked. So either its accidentally being leaked, or there is a rogue operator on the Board

If you believe the vibe that some are pushing abotu Lyon - you might think he is done and if you thought that was teh case why wouldn't you short?

I wouldn't short Lyon at all. Haven't seen a name put up that goes anywhere near his coaching pedigree - also why would Lyon be chasing so hard if he didnt think he was a good chance? the bloke does have some pride in himself- he wouldnt want to be seen to be knocked back - unless Clarkson changes his mind which is his get out face saver.

If the CLub says no to lyon - it isnt a good look for him.

Which is why at worst I'd have no bet on Lyon and if forced to choose the most likely outcome it woudl be him - despite the CEO not wanting a bar of him.

People on here think Lyon is the devil incarnate regarding women already and now we have ex- players taking pot shots and then apologising.

Can't think of another potential coach appointment that has created so much controversy - ever.

He won’t get more than 4. 4 is still harsh, sets an example that this won’t be tolerated, but I think any more than that and the great unwashed would burn the place down because of the others that have had leaner sentences, such as a fine only (eg. Neale)

Agreed. While its great we are after top operators like Cook and Clarko we will look stupid if Cook rejects us now.

I wonder where the accountability and consequences lie for such a ****-up other than reputation - will people give a shit this time next year? this of course is mostly due to the endless pursuit to be first with the breaking news - accuracy and facts take a back seat...........
