The rumoured Clarko mentor role sounds ideal
But both the Dogs and Essendon don’t really sacrifice much offensive style to implement there attack
But rookie coach is a bit of a risk also might have more upside than a Ross Lyon game plan

Find it quite funny how against rookie coaches so many people are.

I know Bolton and Teague didn't work out, but every star coach was a rookie once...Hardwick, Beverage, Goodwin this year, Clarkson himself...

Besides Beverage, who by the way was a relative unknown to the public when he won the Bulldogs top job, the other 3 coaches above took quite a while to turn their teams into winning ones.

We really didn't do Teague any favours with our coaching team...needed a good senior assistant.

I find the concern so many have about hiring another untried coach odd. Out of the 17 AFL clubs at the moment (aside from us) 16 have coaches in their first senior coach role. Hiring a first time coach again doesn't make us a basket case, it just makes us normal.

Teague didn't fail because he was a first time senior coach, he failed because he wasn't that good. People forget that prior to getting the Carlton gig he was never spoken of in the top rung of assistants in line to get a senior gig. I'm not saying he wasn't a good assistant but in AFL circles at that time he wasn't seen as the same calibre as the guys we are currently speaking to.
I think it's kinda similar to our keenness to trade players in rather than develop them in house, we have so little faith in our ability as a club to develop and produce the best talent (whether playing or coaching), that we feel our best chance is getting a known quality in

One name was Once coach is appointed Brad Lloyd would exit the door (hearing it's most likely with him walking)
Chance Russell may also be out the door, he's still contracted though to baffles me

Who was ‘once coach’? What do you actually mean here?

Nice to read that Brad Lloyd will ‘still be able to walk’ once he ‘exits’.

Russell ‘out the door‘? Hmm

That so called "muppet
"is back in a coaching role with our Aflw girls.
Poor choice of words.
The Muppets are a highly rated children's show, some adults also watch them. I didn't rate him as a player (personal opinion ) he might make a good coach though

The word domino was used, yes

Cool, your mate got his intel from here then :p

Rumourception.

People post rumours on BF.
Other people read rumours on BF.
Those people claim the rumour as their own intel and tell their friends.
Those friends come to BF and report the rumour their friend gave them.

So you know that Pyke has already been offered the job? And Clarkson was called later yesterday for a last ditch effort?

Carlton last night made one last call to Clarkson camp, he has said no once again (4 times now) and hearing Pyke is being offered the job, giansiracusa looking to be senior assistant

Well, you know what they say? “If at the fourth time you don’t succeed, irritate him enough on the fifth try to the point where he exclaims “**** my life” and ends up accepting your very reasonable 7 years and $45 million contract.”

So you know that Pyke has already been offered the job? And Clarkson was called later yesterday for a last ditch effort?

So you really believe that Carlton held off until yesterday and then someone, presumably Luke Sayers, made ‘one last phone call’ to Alistair Clarkson offering him the coaching job, that way, yesterday?

Slowly burying yourself in crap
Username is not helpful either, a sure way to get some angst. Which is what a trolls mission always is..
I am not trying, just giving intel from what I've heard from my solid sources just like everyone else is

G’day RoyalBlues, has your mail on Clarkson changed at all? Are you still confident he will be our next coach?

I have a missed call from Luke Sayers, probably should call him back. 🤔🙃🤪

Seriously though, the process is not being played out through the media or leaks, so I have no reason to doubt what I was told.

I would panic a week after the GF not today, this week or even next week!
