Did we offer Pyke or not?
Is Pyke on a plane to Melbourne only to find out when he arrives that Clarkson called back?

You've got it all mixed up Swuzz.

Last night Sayers called Clarko to tell him he'd been successful.

Clarko said he knew he was successful, as his 4 premierships attest, but he still wasn't interested in coaching Carlton.

So Sayers then called NotSos to let him know.

Then Diesel called Pyke to tell him he had the job cause Clarko didn't want it.

Pyke called Clarko to find out why he didn't want the job, in case he'd overlooked some minor detail when he'd come to the conclusion that Carlton were the best club in the comp.

Clarko's receptionist (and wife) Brian Cook, picked up instead, and told Pyke that Carlton were the worst, and he should say no.

Then Brian called Diesel to let him know that Clarko did actually want the job at Carlton, because ****ed if the Power Couple were gonna come second to Don "Power Stance" Pyke.

Diesel then called NotSos so that he could add it to the list of things to tell BigFooty.

Then Clarko called Sayers, cause he still didn't want to coach Carlton but his wife (Brian) was forcing him to. Demanded a cap instead of a beanie as part of his welcome package, because only pussies get cold heads but real blokes are still sunsmart.

Sayers called NotSos to ask him if he had a spare hat. NotSos said he did, but Sayers could only have it if he told him what was happening with Cerra. Sayers caved and told him the truth, that Cerra is actually already signed with Melbourne, and will be taking Angus Brayshaw's place in the grand final (the helmet should prevent BT from recognising him).

So to answer your question - Pyke is actually still mulling over whether or not he wants the job. NotSos just needed to create a BigFooty account and give us all these updates before giving Don the bad news.

Re rumoured delistings. That's where we are at now. Most have shown something or haven't had enough time to show something.

Parks battling Plowman and Kemp for that 3rd defensive medium tall spot. Looked good in his first couple of AFL games in terms of effort. All at sea after that. Even the later VFL games I saw, he looked a long way off it.

Newnes isn't the future, just a placeholder in the side and 2021 was fairly average for him.
I agree, only one I would've given more time is Parks as I liked his physicality but football be a harsh mistress

NOTSOS was a troll (lucky/obvious guesses) but there was indeed some truths posted in there....
What though. he posted so much shit

Edit:
I hope it wasnt the part about Clarko saying no so we offered Pyke the job but then Clarko said yes

Last one and I'm off
Cook announcement tomorrow
Clarko next week
Gia top assistant
Cerra to Melbourne
Russell stays as clarko wants him there
But…but…. You said just before Clarko said no and Pyke was offered the job??

You're about a fortnight late with that effort.

I always found the Boyd pick strange. A small forward that didn't kick many goals or playing off half back, an area we're stacked in. He was always pushing uphill to ever get a sniff. The injury obviously killed any chance, but he didn't really have one to begin with.
His disposal was supposed to be excellent, but with covid disruption & being injured, never got a chance to show it. :(

While I don't see or want Newnes as best 22, I wouldn't be so quick to offload him just yet either. A seasoned body who can jump straight in and play at the top level if required and would be a handy VFL player at the very least.

Thought Newnes was more than serviceable this year, especially compared to many other similar types, but Hewett would be seen as a much better upgrade within the best 22
Agree Newnes was serviceable , more composed and purposeful than a few we have had on the park.
The addition of Hewett if it eventuates, would support Newnes and encourage more of the trademark specialist goals.

It's a cut throat world.
Newnes plays almost every game and gets cut.
Parks has half a preseason, plays a few games, no chance to develop/prove himself in the VFL thanks to covid. Gone.
Boyd. Plays one game, gets injured. Gone.

This is what happens when Homer Simpson is your list manager.

So let me get this straight, just for kicks and giggles ...

Last night Sayers called Clarko to ask him to reconsider for the fourth time. Clarko said no.

Some one from the club then rings Pyke and also Gia and offer them positions.

Someone calls/messages NotSos to tell them.

However .... drum roll...

Clarko calls Cook and through that discussion changes his mind (a conversation like that would have to last at least a couple of hours to change your mind completely and to discuss conditions)

Clarko writes a list of conditions after reconsidering based on his chat with Cook.

Clarko calls back with his list of conditions the next morning (wow, must have been up most of the night with the chat with Cook and writing conditions etc).

Someone from the club tells NotSos everything that has happened this morning.

We contact Pyke to redact our offer. Hope he hasn’t signed that contract yet 😮. Awks

We also called Gia to let him know that he will now be working with Clarko not Pyke and he is ok with that.

... and NotSos knows all of what has gone on in the last 12 hour. Wowsers!!! 🤪🤪🤪
