Surprised by the first two... Boyd was such a weird pick even at the time. We have absolutely bottled the mid season draft a couple times now.

Boyd one is strange - he’s played 5 minutes of VFL footy for us, have we suddenly now a surplus of lockdown small defenders? Is he injury prone? Attitude?

I know he has been an unpopular player with supporters but based on output I think Newnes is unlucky.

I know he’s no major loss but I thought he was a solid contributor. As others have mentioned hopefully this means we get one more look at LOB on a wing.

I like Parks but that’s the nature of rookie lists, it’s pretty cutthroat. Hopefully gets another chance.

Newnes has been better than i thought we he came over. Bit surprised he has been let go (is this confirmed or just someone giving us the early info?).

Would have thought he'd be good as a backup.

I was never really in love with Parkes as much as others on here. Good attitude/toughness but was very poor defensively and very poor disposal. Wont mind if he is re-rookied but not sure why they would delist him and re-rookie him, cant they automatically re-rookie a rookie after their first year?

Was he ever a lockdown small defender? I thought he was a small forward turned rebounding defender because of his skill.

Clarko called Diesel back this morning with demands, Carlton will meet them

So you know that Pyke has already been offered the job? And Clarkson was called later yesterday for a last ditch effort?

Interesting if accurate.

Not surprised about Boyd, last in and was always a slim chance given he was a mid season draftee who then got injured.

Parks feels a tad harsh, but could easily see him getting re-rookied or training with the group through preseason with a view to picking him up in the SSP when an inevitable injury hits.

Newnes is a genuine surprise. Far from our best, by no means a "required" player, but he's a consistent contributor who featured plenty at senior level and would be solid depth at worst. Would have to be a chance for the rookie list. Unless he's been told he won't be best 22 and his preference is to look elsewhere?

Why would I do that? It's not that I don't believe you (or that I necessarily do), just asking for clarification. Maybe I missed something in between, but it's pretty obvious that the two posts don't marry up, so just wondered.
