Dow needs to learn to run both ways. He is a terrible defence runner, and yes that may be a fitness issue. In fact we have a largely one way running midfield which really hurts us. Thats a big challenge for Voss. Its why we targeted Hewitt.

I just watched his 2021 highlights reel and it's frustrating to see how he just switches off once he has handballed off to a teammate. Not even a thought to follow up with a block or attempt to turn it into a 1-2. Hopefully this is something that gets drilled into him over the off season and a bit more size gives him the confidence to want to initiate more contact with the opposition.

The problem is several of our high draft picks just have not come on in 4 season senior footy, putting our warped club cultural aside, these youngsters were highly regarded, very talented what’s gone wrong? This has got to be sorted out fast.

When you let older players continually get away with subpar efforts it doesn't bode well for player development down the line.
