FWIW, his profile is still on the clubs website.
It was never removed.

So if he was retired, finito, done and dusted, they would have removed it like they did with Murph and Eddie yeah? Given its still there...It was never removed.

We do love a good rumour from medical centres around these parts...Passing on something I heard today.
One of my neighbours is a physio and the clinic he works for treats AFL players so they sometimes get bits of information.
Got it, makes sense.No.
Unlike the other two, Jones retired after the final list lodgement. So whilst he has retired, he remains on our list until the next opportunity arises to officially remove him from it, which comes at the end of the season.
I'm not sure it'd matter. AFL makey-uppey saw Hodge in Brisbane after he retired, and Jones' exit was hardly conventional. They'd lap up the opportunity to welcome someone back to the fold, publicly.Maybe he did, I’m not too sure myself, Wick
It’s a good point, geth, tend to agreeI'm not sure it'd matter. AFL makey-uppey saw Hodge in Brisbane after he retired, and Jones' exit was hardly conventional. They'd lap up the opportunity to welcome someone back to the fold, publicly.

that was meI thought he officially signed and submitted his retirement paperwork with the AFL
Oh no, we are talking 2022, not 1922, sorry for the confusionthat was me
Why is there a discussion about Jones returning? He is retired, but retired after final list lodgement. So technically he is 'still on the list'. But he has 'retired' for 2022 season.
Yes, there is a possibility that vaccine mandates and AFL rules could change to allow Jones to return. There is also a possibility I could pick next week's winning powerball. But for all intents and purposes, Jones is gone.
I wish Liam all the best in Qld, but time to move on...
Sorry. I didn't get even Division 9...
So you're saying there's a chance you win powerball and we get Jones back? Woo hoo!!
I didn’t realise we were supposed to be testing the new mods outThe anti-vax loon has been sent to the asylum.
Let’s move on thanks.
this time my neighbour is a physio and he does treat AFL players. We do love a good rumour from medical centres around these parts...
Well sure, but so am I and just like him I’m also bad at football. I was never a drug cheat thoughthis time my neighbour is a physio and he does treat AFL players.
He is a Carlton supporter too and also questioned why we would want to take a 33 year old.
Hooker supposedly has been working hard on his fitness.
It is unlikely to eventuate but if it does you heard it here first.
What have I missed
Damn, I missed it…Just catching up on the deleted posts.
Wow just wow.
Talk about conspiracy theories & anti-vax crap.
Hopefully we heard it here last too...Hooker supposedly has been working hard on his fitness.

We'd need to talk to the AFL to get permission, but it'd be such an easy case to get it. They would talk to their marketing people, the marketing people would have dollar signs instead of irises, and the next day's HS's back page would read "He's been Jonesing for a comeback!"I think the timing makes a difference with it here though. Hodge retired at the end of the season, didn’t he? Before final list lodgement, so the season before he played at Brisbane (obviously haha).
Jones was after final lodgement so technically retired during the 2022 season. He can’t go mid season draft as he’s still assigned to Carlton for the 22 season, and we don’t have a mid season trade period so I’m not sure how he plays for anyone this year.
Not sure they’d want the potential ramifications from setting a precedent of a contracted player retiring then moving to another club that year… For the publicity around welcoming back one 32(?) year old player.
