On a more serious note...

Amazing to think we paid ~pick 52 for Pittonet and he has made himself almost indespensable.

Ok, that's mostly because the list managers are running our ruck division on a tightrope. But still, we're a worse side without him.

Kudos to the big lug. Doubt many on here thought he'd be this valuable a couple of years ago.

At least we know we'll be ok during finals when Vossy rolls out his old "finals specialist" mate Clark Keating.

What are the odds of TDK getting through three months of solo ruckwork? We might not have a choice, unless we go to the MSD (which I suppose we could with Pitto on the LTIL).
Yep.
Let's get Max Gawn.
He is quite good.

Especially ironic given how often Casboult and miss used to go hand in hand back in the day

Lol GIF

Can we recruit Dominic Perrottet in mid-season draft. No one will know the difference

I think Perrottet is already busy subbing in for the guy from Batman / Peaky Blinders...

Evening sorry for the intrusion.
Was looking for info on how bad Pittonets injury was .
Bloody shame .
From my observation at the game on the weekend TDK is a player and takes a brilliant mark .
Watched some other game earlier this year when he was in the forward line and equally impressed.

Would be a shame to wreck him as full time ruck like the Eagles did to Allen( more so in Defence)
Those guys are all you could want in a ruck forward which are rare as hens gold teeth so why anyone would wreck them is beyond me .

Easy to say if there’s no good back up in the wings .
Good luck .

even if caleb is ready to play he must be rusty, 2019 was his last game.

IF he's fit and has some touch back (and can stay fit) will ease our 3rd tall/interception issues. might have to play ruck though, the way it's going.
If we play Marchbank in the ruck, I'm genuinely going to flip my shit.

The bloke could turn a papercut into a six week issue, such is his luck.

At 201cm, Young is our tallest player outside of the three recognised ruckmen on our list (and excluding Harry). Definitely should be him and JSOS sharing ruck duties. Once (and if) Gov and OMac are back, he will likely lose his spot down back so doubling up as a second ruck option would improve his selection chances.

Versatility here. JSOS back. Young forward. TDK ruck. Spurts as the relieving ruck, as required.
Just need to stay on the park, or it’s throw Mirkov in the deep for 5min bursts @ the start & end of quarters. TDK doing the bulk of in-game rucking in between (though #1 ruck qualities need to be shown).

Were there any AFL rucks delisted last year that could be assessed to fill a gap? KPP that can roll as #2.
Levi would be handy now. His knee is strapped but not limiting him it seems.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. His knee is cooked yet with our depleted KPD and ruck stocks, he'd be pretty handy in those roles.

Not sure on the status of any delisted rucks. The Club would most certainly have their finger on the pulse across State leagues to determine the ideal candidates. It's frustrating that we are thin on both KPD and ruck stocks.

I think our coaches are going to be forced to get a bit creative and there are a few different options.

young took a good mark in last quarter when he moved to forward role so could be a worthwhile option up front. potentially could rotate between ruck/defence and forward.

jsos and tdk covering ruck/forward duties.

Omac is another if he can get/stay fit - defense and potentially ruck.

****ing finally.

He’s not AFL delisted but the West is talking up Bryn Teakle who plays for East Fremantle in the WAFL.

Personally I think that’s the best we can hope for out of the mid season draft is looking for a KPD/KPF swing man who is recently ex AFL listed and currently a top up player (eg Ballenden, Schlensog) that would enable releasing Young to be a back up ruck.

How do we know they haven't tried to be creative or experiment? Teague said several times he "pulled levers" on different things last year but nothing seemed to work.

Similarly Voss already has also said he's tried things. I've seen Doc on the ball at times, on the wing often for centre bounces. Even Charlie in the backline a week or 2 ago, though that experiment was short lived. Silvagni in the ruck is very creative. Young rucked on the weekend and also went forward. Kicked a goal too. I know it seems to be common now but Harry rucking inside 50 at times is good. The change in Cripps approach inside 50 has been ingenious.

Please me what we mean by "the coaches trying something" if they're not it, as that's what I consider trying things or experimenting and getting creative.

Should Darcy send his wage bill for his concussion to Charlie?

It’s a physical sport, incidents happen. It’s unfortunate but in no way was this a deliberate act by Darcy.

Did you see what Corey mckernan and Dan gorrange were saying on twitter about it?
