The connection is that the likelihood of this happening in AFL from a similar situation (e.g. tip off) is significantly increased.

Add in all of the variables. Weather, outdoot grass surface, etc. The fact that you're bringing bodies even closer at the contest than ever before.

That's without even considering the fact that tackling in basketball is not allowed whereas it is part and parcel of the game.

It's a disaster waiting to happen. If not the actual rucks then the midfielders around them. It'd be almost impossible to incorporate jump ball rules into Aussie Rules.

At least with a bounce the bounce is supposed to generate distance. With a basketball tip off you're pretty much accepting that it'll end in a stacks on situation.

If that's not enough reasoning why jump balls would be a disaster in the AFL and that being a perfect example of why then I don't know what to tell you.
You don't have to tell me anything. I can't agree with any of that. I don't see how any of that isn't already a potential risk and I don't see that increasing if the changes are made.

Surely his body is OK? Looks fairly trim. Might still be fairly fit.

We could do worse. Mumford has done similar. If the big fella thought that he could do it for 6 months and contribute if called up I'd be up for it. (Note - I have no real belief that the club would need my approval).

Any recently retired K.P.D's (apart from Cale Hooker) keeping fit around the place. What say you SOS?

Seen he was listed as a FA and think he’d be a real benefit to a team like ours and make us instantly 2-3 goals better. However, as posters have pointed out - surely every team would be into him and surely Fremantle would be the front runner for his services if he wanted to leave, which is unlikely in its own right given they look primed for a tilt at a few flags.

Melb have a stacked midfield so they are playing Brayshaw as a defensive winger.

If he's leaving a premiership side, it's to play in the guts.

We have a stacked contested ball midfield, so we'd probably be the worst club for him to join...

Angus Brayshaw would cost a mint in salary, can’t see it happening
