You don't have to tell me anything. I can't agree with any of that. I don't see how any of that isn't already a potential risk and I don't see that increasing if the changes are made.The connection is that the likelihood of this happening in AFL from a similar situation (e.g. tip off) is significantly increased.
Add in all of the variables. Weather, outdoot grass surface, etc. The fact that you're bringing bodies even closer at the contest than ever before.
That's without even considering the fact that tackling in basketball is not allowed whereas it is part and parcel of the game.
It's a disaster waiting to happen. If not the actual rucks then the midfielders around them. It'd be almost impossible to incorporate jump ball rules into Aussie Rules.
At least with a bounce the bounce is supposed to generate distance. With a basketball tip off you're pretty much accepting that it'll end in a stacks on situation.
If that's not enough reasoning why jump balls would be a disaster in the AFL and that being a perfect example of why then I don't know what to tell you.
