Toby doesn't get through the no dickheads filter. That's a NO from Carlton..
Toby is an absolute mongrel.
But I'd love for him to be OUR mongrel!
Ps - Greene to Carlton not happening in a million years...

Not sure the name of the person with Cooney on Trade Radio but he just said "Dow is well paid, I am not saying 500K a year, but not far off". Hmm

Haha what?! Toby Greene? One would be mad to say no to him! (would only cost us 1.5mil a year though)Wouldn't want him in a million years anyway... his form will have dropped off by then... maybe Norf would sign him up - if they're still around.

A question- how is it that there has been no talk of Plow being shopped around for a trade?
Would have thought he had some value & is pretty much surplus to needs moving forward

Would make sense - signed an extension in his first year when we were struggling to reach the cap floor, terms of his extension last year are unknown
Wouldn't want Greene in a million years' time... his form will have dropped off by then...
Would be very surprised if his one year extension, signed last year, was anywhere near $500k. Austin and Co would have known we were coming into a period where we needed to sign Curnow, McKay and TDK, and flexibility in the 2023 salary cap would be helpful for front-ending contracts a little bit.
Dow played 3 games in 2020 and 17 in 2021 including (I think) 3 as sub. He was in no way a best 22 lock, and his form was patchy at best.
I'd assume we were also in talks with Cerra and Hewett from a fair way out, so would have had some idea that we were a good chance for one, if not both.
A one year extension, a year in advance, on big money? Doubtful.
Sounds like media spitballing.
Oh right. Yeah maybe! he's not human! You fancy his form in a million years time?
Does that mean Paddy is well endowed? Not sure the name of the person with Cooney on Trade Radio but he just said "Dow is well paid, I am not saying 500K a year, but not far off". Hmm
Yeah that was the point I was making. Exactly the type we need, but the type we are averse to acquiring through past issues.Toby is an absolute mongrel.

Least of our needs & sizeable contract. Great player before last seasons poor showing.Wonder if we could get Nick Haynes cheaply ?
Good solid player who would definitely fill a need for us.
Bowes on the wingHe doesn’t. Same goes for Whitfield and Bowes. There’s a case for Greene as we lack a quality small forward but he will break the bank so hopefully we aren’t entertaining that either. People on here are stretching because they are impatient and have FOMO so they want us to be involved in deals we don’t need to be involved in. Cook, Voss, Austin et al I have been pretty clear post season what we are trying to achieve with the list and IMO it sounded good. I’d actually be disappointed if we got seduced into deviating from that plan by taking a big name. Acres was a great piece of opportunistic needs based recruiting. We have some other list needs (KPP depth, half forward) but hopefully what we address those in the draft.
Would this have been Josh Jenkins? Not sure the name of the person with Cooney on Trade Radio but he just said "Dow is well paid, I am not saying 500K a year, but not far off". Hmm
Ah is that who it is. Heard Josh but didn't make the connectionLeast of our needs & sizeable contract. Great player before last seasons poor showing.
Bowes on the wing
Pick #7
Would this have been Josh Jenkins?
He's like a bloody dog with a bone re our salary cap. Has been trying to convince the world that we're in dire straights and our cap is screwed for months now, yet somehow we've managed to sign Charlie and Harry in that time.IF
Charlie and Harry and Patty and Sam and Jacob and the Adams are all on big cash and long deals ...
THEN
Barrett needs to inflate the importance of an unsigned player, say that he’s the “most important player”. Yeah right Damo - the Blues are struggling!

Agree Paddy Dow is another Fischer McAsey story unfortunately, another burnt high draft pick. Get whatever we can or delist asap , just move on, hopefully we learn from these blunders.Would be very surprised if his one year extension, signed last year, was anywhere near $500k. Very true, but based on their history of retaining players a large % will want to leave in 2-3 years time.At this rate, we might as well let GWS pick whoever they like and then the Draft can start after that
