Same source that advised me that Sheedy was to finish up at the end of the year (I was told in Feb but did not believe it) has said the Bomber deal is all systems go.

He may change his mind but at this point lock it in.

I dunno if it will happen, I hope it will, but it'd be very unloyal of Bomber to just walk out on a club that has won a premiership (If they do).

I agree mate. I can't see him walking away from arguably the best list in the land (probably in the top couple anyway) when it's on the verge of hopefully something pretty special. All coaches exist to be in that position - not all go back 'home' as is suggested by many on here. Matthews hasn't (and wont), Sheedy hasn't (and wont). Daniher hasn't (and probably wont)....etc, etc.

If he is embarassed by the club after the year we have had on and off the field, then he is very hard to please!! Costa has been the best President we have had in decades, even if only to get B.Cook to the club and sorting out the massive debt we had.

Please tell me how Geelong is a disgrace, when Thompson tells them he doesnt want to talk until after the end of the season?

Yeah they could've used the Essendon model: secretly sack the coach in the middle of a fairly successful season then lie about it to everyone.

No wonder no existing senior coaches were attracted!

Further to the information I revealed yesterday I can disclose the deal was done last night but cannot be announced until after the absurd Save Essendon group EGM on October 2.

No decision can be aired by the board whilst an EGM has been lodged due to the constitution, which leaves the board ridiculously in limbo because of the Save Essendon group. This action by the Save Essendon group may harm our chances of enticing Chris Judd without having a coach officially, but luckily Peter Jackson is involved so that makes me feel more comfortable.

Sometimes people should just leave the Essendon board to do want its done best for years – make the hard but right decisions. Peter Jackson and Ray Horsburgh have got it right once again by luring Bomber Thompson to Windy Hill.

Costa last year said that if the dont win the GF then BT is out (no one expected them to play as well as they have) so in other words they couldnt afford to pay him out. Now he has turned around and said that he is a VERY loyal person and hopes that Thompson is too. I agree if a team is not performing then assess and either rebuild the team or find a new coach. If not shut up and wait until the contract expires then find a new coach.

Its not the players he is not happy with, its the club. How emmbarassing is this? They are on the verge of finally winning a grand final! Great but it maybe completely overshadowed by the fact that the senior coach wants to leave. Whether he does or not it takes away from the best feeling football will every give a supporter!

COuld u please show me the quotes from Costa saying that if we didnt win the GF Bomber would be out, cant recall hearing that. And the quotes saying that he hopes Bomber is as loyal as himself as well, while u r at it..


And an essendon supporter saying that another club is embarassing the way it is handling its coaching affairs is hypocritcal to say the least!
