Looks like a strong team. My thoughts :

B: Mark McVeigh - Mal Michael - Dustin Fletcher
HB: Adam McPhee - Kepler Bradley - Nathan Lovett-Murray
C: Brent Stanton - Jobe Watson - Andy Lovett
HF: James Hird - Scott Lucas - Ricky Dyson
F: Alwyn Davey - Matthew Lloyd - Courtney Johns

Courtney Dempsey is definitely ahead of davey and houli

There is no way Gumbleton will play round 1. we will want to get his confidence up in the magoos first.

I lke the sound of that centre line especially with Andy Lovett on the wing that would give us more pace. I think it is a great idea to give gus monfries a go in tthe midfield except maybe not start him there. swap him with someone like mcviegh or something for the first bounce.

I wouldn't be so sure. He would be almost a certainty to start in the nab cup games, and if he performed solidly, I wouldn't be surprised to see him line up. At this stage it's unlikely he'll play straight away, but I wouldn't be saying there's no way

From what i have heard, i have not seen myself, he is struggling a little bit.
by this i mean, hes not holding his marks, and seems to be just adjusting to the increase pace of training.
Mixed in with new surroundings etc etc.
Nothing to be concerned about, but i don't think he will play much, if any home and away early in the season.
Alwyn Davey and Jetta, are most likely, again, only from what i have been told

I would like to think that R1 we use the experienced blokes and not throw the kids to the wolves in adelaide. Would like to see Gumby, Jetta, Davey and Houli all make debuts here where can be welcomed with open arms by our supporters. Maybe a bit later on to travel interstate to play. maybe take them for the experience if bendigo aren't playing..

I can tell you we wont go with two talls on the bench if we have Bradley and Johns on the field. The bench would be laycock and three mids.

* Means they should be given an opportunity from Rd.1 but are very much under the pump to hold their spot.
With Ricky there are guys like winder, dempsey, houli, davey ready to pounce
With Bradley and Johns, Im sure Gumby will put his hand up and also one could just be dropped to inject more pace or for mid rotation.

If either of the Johnsons are not firing i would be very annoyed if there clones; Hislop or Lonergan are not given an decent go. Its time for these two to play more consistenly or move on...

Campo is certainly under pressure through guys like Pev, Heff and even Bolton to an extent!

I like that it seems next year Bendigo will have a lot more competitive side and there will be a lot more competition for spots.

Having said that i still feel we at least 3 years away from seriously challenging again.

This is the team which will take us to the finals:

FB: McVeigh Michael Welsh
HB: Johnson Fletcher Lovett Murray
C: Camporeale Watson McPhee
HF: Hird Lucas Lovett
FF: Monfries Lloyd Johns
RUCKS: Hille Johnson Stanton
INTERCHANGE: Laycock Bradley Slattery Dyson

The INTERCHANGE was hard to pick as we have so much depth at the moment.
Any disagreements?

Id most likely have Johns beginning from the bench at this stage of the season. Would be too tall to have Lucas, Lloyd and Johns up forward. Needs to be some room there for Lloyd to lead. Id imagine with Hird being there more prominently this season, he'll need some space to lead into also.

Sheeds will have to drag Hird to keep him in the forward line for the majority of the season. I can't see it happening, Hird will do what Hird does best and run his own course.

True.
Imagine our forward line with those three talls though.
You have seen how hard it is to match St.Kildas forward line so we could use that set up to our advantage also.
I also considered the 5-man forward line with McPhee sweeping as the lose man in defence.
