Brisbane face another big loss

of course it's not :p

you've done it again - you've restated the same point: "brisbane are paying the price for having a crack at a 4 th flag"

my question to you, again, is 'so fricken what?'

there's nothing to defend - it's an established fact...the club publicly acknowledged this from 2002-3...leigh stated it many times...the players stated it many times...hell, even I have stated it many times

the fact that there would be a downswing associated with such unprecedented success is the MOST obvious 'stating the obvious' statement you could make

while some Lions fans continue to grind their axes over God knows what, 99.99% are very happy thank you very much with the way we are rebuilding

so what is your point ffs? what possible reaction could you possibly be looking/trolling for?

are you really wanting us to say 'it wasn't worth it'??? aside from one or two resident lion 'haters', it won't happen

you see, nothing could match that feeling of winning a 3rd consecutive flag...nothing...i know you will never understand that feeling but trust me when i say 'it was f*****g woth it' :)
your mum is calling you

Re: Brisbane crowds are falling

Where did the Reds come in the S14? Dead last? The same place where the Broncos have been for a large part of the season? Yeah...

Pfft.

this is about the third time you've said that the broncos have been 'dead last' for a large part of the season when they haven't been in 16th position for a single week.......

a bit like your friend who wanted me to 'waive' the white flag, which I'm quite willing to do.

no, i was talking about the flags

please note emphasis on 's' indicating multiple or numerous items

for example, 3 would be a good number to indicate numerous items...yes 3 flags...that would be a perfect example! ;)

BTW it was worth it ;)

come and see me when you bag 4 in a row, in the meantime you are dismissed

you've only won 1 AFL flag champ

this can get as cheap and childish as you want - you started the yo mamma game remember :p

i have asked the same question many times and you have completely avoided it: yes, we have suffered as a result of our success...are you wanting someone to say 'it wasn't worth it?'

can you answer that question Fu? :thumbsu:

The AFL website says we have won 14

and I have stated numerous times that most clubs would make the same decision, but there are consequences.

no-one disagrees with that...it is a long-established truism which was, in fact, publicly predicted by coach and club back in 02-04

so why state it so many times? what reaction could you be seeking?

you seem to have trouble with this part of the question (i'll type it slowly):

are...you...wanting...someone...to...say...it...wasn't...worth...it?

*waits for response*

It was relevant in the context of the discussions I was having with those at the time, of which you werent really included

I couldnt really care less if anyone says it or not, I have never asked for anyone to say it, but it seems you are champing at the bit to say it at every opportunity, like a schoolboy with the first flushes of puberty.

PS, I typed it even slower for you. The Qld thing may have become more ingrained in you. If you know what I mean.

i guess cheap, anonymous insults are the first signs of surrender

*accepts white flag*

For what it is worth , I believe Brisbane should have given more to the old Fitzroy fans over the years.

Apart from the wearing of the 1975-1996 Fitzroy jumper, what more should they have given?

They pointedly refused to allow Brisbane to play in the (most recent) Fitzroy jersey when they were on top because they didn't want to put offside their Brisbane supporter base

Yet Brisbane played in the maroon 1956-1973 Fitzroy jumper in 2003 for the first of the Heritage Rounds. That jumper was chosen because of it's association with famous Fitzroy legends such as Kevin Murray, Bill Stephen and co. It was worn again in 2005.

now that supporter numbers are down they are talking about playing in that Fitzroy jersey very time they play in Melbourne to try and boost Victorian supporter numbers.

2007 membership numbers are just under what they were in 2002 (which at that time was a Brisbane Bears / Brisbane Lions record).

For the record the same was talked about in 2003. This time many have noted that the 1975-1996 jumper makes a better clash jumper than the 1956-1973 jumper. But certainly the reaction amongst the old Roys faithful and indeed the genral public has been very favorable.

I can not believe Brisbane supporters would have begrudged the Fitzroy jersey getting a airing during this time , but it was obviously seen as lessening the Brisbane Lions Brand .

Upon what basis can you argue this, considering the Fitzroy jumper was worn in 2003? Clearly it wasn't seen as lessening the Brisbane Lions brand. Otherwise the jumper with the FFC logo wouldn't have been worn.

While I am at it - playing the old Fitzroy and Bears songs amid the continous playing of the Lions version during the post grand final celebrations would have been nice to see\hear as a salute to where they had come from .

You didn't notice the reference to 'Fitzroy' and the 'Bears' in the theme song that was played?

They were playing for the memory of a club champion, who's grandson is a current player. Hird had a blinder that night.

It was the week to put our heads down and get on with the job, not be negative about our oppositions player, coach and club.We did what we accused West Coast of doing, not respecting our opposition.I did mention my opinion that week on our board.

I don't understand how mentioning a dead guy has anything to do with 'respecting our opposition'. West Coast showed their lack of respect for us by playing like garbage, as though they could beat us just by turning up. Had nothing to do with things said (or not said) in the media.
