Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Look at all the Fevola haters jump on board now youve realised how good our forward line will look.. we all would hate to see Bradshaw leave but Fevoila kicking a hundred certainly tickles my fancy!

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

SEN confirmed that Bradshaw and Rischa have an interview at Visy Park tomorrow.

They also said that it will increase membership and attendances in Brisbane.

Geez I hope we keep our first pick and Hendo. If so, I am officially okay with this.

We will keep our first pick and Hendo.

This is Bradshaw and Riska only for Fevola.

Although, this is where we should say to them throw in Hadley. haha.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Before people start jumping in at losing Bradshaw - look at things in perspective. Fevola is 10x the player Bradshaw is.

That's a bit harsh on Bradshaw. Can Fevola slot into the backline when his team is under the pump?

Ultimately I can live with the trade if it happens. Bradshaw has been at the Brisbane Lions since the beginning (I think he may be the only one left?), but he is unfortunately nearing the end. We will get more years out of Fev.

In the end, this really screws Carlton over. They have less than 2 years now to breed some decent forwards.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

I'm a little surprised that Rischitelli is the player offered with Bradshaw considering Carlton have plenty of midfielders. (Gibbs, Judd, Hadley, McLean, Murphy, Scotland) I would have perhaps thought that Joel McDonald would have been offered with Bradshaw, given that Carlton appear to need to improve their defence and McDonald is reported to be prepared to go to a Melbourne based club.

That is why I think Hadley might be heading back north despite the report saying he's staying in Carlton.

The report was Bradshaw was going to stay in Brisbane.

I meant now as it stands. Fevola is a much better prospect than Bradshaw considering Bradshaw doesn't have long left.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

SEN reporting talks of David Wojcinski to us, Joel MacDonald to North and Jesse Smith to Geelong...

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

I'd be happy with this to happen.

Bradshaw + Rischitelli + Pick 47
Fevola + Hadley

Then we trade MacDonald and get a draft pick or Clarke or Smith.

Then we trade Hooper and try and get a draft pick between 30 - 50.

This is a crazy trade week.

I reckon if we get Fev, Voss will go for Wojcinski and shoot for a flag.

I would have liked us to go for someone younger than Wojcinski for MacDonald, however, Wojcinski offers more than what Xavier Clarke offers.

Voss is definately going for a flag here if we land Wojcinski. Yes, he's 29, but he's got pace and we can get 2 - 4 years out of him. Maybe more.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Convince Burgoyne to move up here. We throw Port Adelaide pick 14.

Package Travis Johnstonne and someone else and get a first round pick off another club.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Fev still wants to go to the Pies according to SEN.

Alex Fevola doesn't want to leave Melbourne.

Could be the dealbreaker.

Tell him we'll throw in Lara Bingle. :D

Wojo's greatest asset is his speed. How much longer is he likely to have that?

As Quigley flagged earlier (still not sure if he was serious...), but if the Fev deal does go ahead then I'd actually be tempted to drop our first rounder on an estalished polished mid like Burgoyne and go for glory next year. Can't believe I just typed that.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Believe it or not guys, there are still two days left in trade week. Will we have any players left?

Yeah... but we'll look like the United Nations of the AFL... either that or some sort of evil animal menagerie :D

Swans, Tigers, Eagles, Lions mixed with a Blue, some Maroons and a Demon

Mind you if they hold that silverware aloft I dont reckon anyone will give a shizen :p

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

While I do believe that this deal with Carlton is a massive win for us, I will still be extremely dissapointed if it goes through. To me loyalty means more than success. Please let it not be true.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

I am feeling slightly sick about this story... I think we're giving up way too much in Bradshaw + Rischitelli.

I always suspected we'd trade Fev for Bradshaw but I thought at most you'd add in a third rounder. I rate Rischi pretty highly and as it stands this looks like a win to Carlton unless they include a decent draft pick as well. I'd be happy with Bradshaw + Rischi for Fev and pick 27 (or a decent young player).

Don't forget the ex-Power... :p

In terms of sheer value of resources, I think we're making out like bandits to be honest.
