Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Actually, the Blues can take Travis Johnstone from us, especially if we do end up with Tuck.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

afl.com putting the idea out there of a straight swap between richmond and brisbane for charman for tuck

both similar age, both some potential for improvment to the teams side in the short term and seems like a decent deal.

you guys are not going to need charman next year and he it seems like you dont rate him too highly from what ive read on this board so deal or no deal

Deal.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

We could do better then Tuck. Howthorne has just lost Robert Campbell to a knee injury so they would be desperate for a ruckmen with Simon Taylor and Brent Renouf their only ruckmen (LOL). Charman + 4th round for Kennedy/McGlynn would be a better trade.
Why is that a better trade? Kennedy is rumoured to be going to Sydney for a 4th rounder. 3rd rounder at best. So why would we include Charman as well?

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

That article is from before Carlton decided officially, or at least announced, Fevola was up for trade...

Yep and judging from the way Sticks was talking there...I don't believe the trade to be fair dinkum....It reeks of a blue bagger set up.....

 Didn't realise he was so cheap. I really rate Kennedy.Tuck is 28. Kennedy is 21. Kennedy would provide an option short term and long term. Kennedy looks the goods and i would gladly trade him for a 2nd round pick.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

We're carrying around too many average players who will not figure in another premiership.

Selwood, Stiller, Harding, Hooper and Proud are those players.

Offload them all if it helps us get a pacey midfielder like Lovett or an in and under player like Hadley or Tuck.

I know that most people are pretty divided about Harding, Hooper and Proud, but Selwood and Stiller are our best taggers. They're necessary for a premiership, especially Selwood who has the ability and courage to develop into a Cameron Ling/Brett Kirk style player if he can just have a bit better luck with injuries.

Apart from the fact that there might be the possibility of Tuck and Lovett adding something to our team that we don't have enough of at the moment, why do you think that trading a bunch of fringe players and replacing them with a bunch of similarly performing fringe players is going to help us improve significantly enough to become a premiership team?

It is not as if what is on offer is that much better, if at all better, than the players you have mentioned.

To be honest, I can't see Hadley offering us anything that we don't already have on the list. He has been in and out of an inexperienced Carlton team who could well use an in-form player of his type. Therefore, not only has he had issues with injuries, he has also had form issues. Give me Rischitelli any day over Hadley. Also, I'd be looking at either Tuck, Kennedy or Harris before Hadley as well.

Lovett could be alright, but I have my concerns about whether or not he will be consistent enough. I have a suspicion that he may end up rotating places in the team with the likes of Johnstone, Hooper and Harding.

Tuck seems like he has the work ethic and courage to get a game most weeks, but I'm not so sure that he brings all that much to the table apart from his work at the clearances. I'd hate to think that we're sold on the idea of picking him up merely because of one statistic.

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

So what is Joel Macdonald worth? Now he's going.... that's why you needed Raines I guess

OK with a straight swap of Tuck for Proud?

Re: Brisbane Lions Trade Talk Thread 2009

Even if Jmac is going, we dont 'need' Raines to cover him. Jmac is a good defender but really, didn't have a fantastic year. Is good enough to be in the 22 for any team though.

And no, Tuck for Proud is a crap trade, although, it makes sense coming from you.

You may or may not have been diagnosed. However if your psychiatrist has not informed you yet why he has prescribed those little pills in substantial dosages let me provide the details. You exhibit all the signs of OCD with a heavy emphasis of BP disorder. Although Personality Disorder is not recognized as a Psychiatric illness you may like to read up a little bit about it as well. Just so you get a bit of insight into yourself.
Please leave this forum and go obsess about your own club. We have enough to deal with our own members here let alone pander to your own attention seeking behavior.
Now leave, please.

weird - i saw a lion lad post above saying you should flick all of proud, hooper and some other bloke to get your hands on Tuck.

Tuck for Proud would be tolerable, though not ideal given Proud clearly has some massive issues off field. Has his court case finished? No chance of a big sanction is there?

You are so very clever. I could not see what you were doing there at all.

Fail.

I think that I understand where you're coming from - if I was a Richmond supporter I'd probably spend all my time on other team's boards too

he's too slow. he may be good around the stoppages but as soon as his opponent gets any space they murder him.
