Werent u guys goin 2 let him go...

good luck to u if u think jarred brennan is ur future... becoz wit out jb u guys would be shit and u kno that ur self

Answer the whole question bucko.

Your English is absolutely disgraceful by the way, to the point where it hurts to read. Try and work on that and people may take you more seriously in the future.

Did Santa not bring you a dictionary for Christmas.

By the way, we were not going to let him go, other clubs were making a play at him and offering him more $$$$ to head south. Eventually sanity prevailed and Mr Brennan realised that he was far better off playing for Brisbane.:thumbsu:

This thread is funny.

One man team eh?

How many did Brennan kick against your mob the last time we played?

How many possessions and clearances did Simon Black get?

How did Nigel Lappin, Rhan Hooper and Jed Adcock go in that match?

How many goals did Cloke kick on Joel Patfull?

How did Mitch Clark go against your mob at the Gabba earlier in the year?

How many goals did Rocca kick on Daniel Merrett over the two games this year?

How did your ruckmen go against Jamie Charman?
Why are you hanging your hat on one game. yes the lions had a night out but a lions supporter such as yourself should already know not to expect that sort of output from Brennan for a long while. He would have to be the most over rated player in the comp IMO.
FWIW i think the Lions will finish about 6th ahead of freo and the saints. getting Johnstone in that midfield will be a massive bonus for the Lions. But I also think your mob has zero chance of finishing 2 spots higher than collingwood.

For whatever reason I dont rate the Lions. I just dont think they are as good as how they're being talked up this off-season.

You can throw as many names at me as you want, I still think Collingwood are a much better up and coming side.

But I also think your mob has zero chance of finishing 2 spots higher than collingwood.

Oh well there's a nice, well-balanced, neutral opinion .

for the record i think that the pies will finish above the lions, but comments such as the one above do little to rid the stereotype about pies supporters being thick, and are of a similar intellect to the OP.

piss off goose, dont just quote on little snippet out of the entire post to try to make some crap point.

Why are you hanging your hat on one game.

Because it was obvious that the person I was arguing with doesn't watch any games that don't involve his club.

The sad thing about this thread is that every Lions supporter agreed that the original post was crap and not worth responding to.

Its certain Collingwood supporters than have kept it going by matching the original poster's ignorance.

Why post the points you did if you dont believe in them? I agree the OP is a nut, but the fact is we are nine pages into said nuts thread so he must have done something right.
Its a bit rich too blame the pies fans for the thread continuing to just quietly.

i don't believe it's a sh#t point. if lions hav no chance of finishing above pies, but in ur opinion will finish 6 spots ahead of freo and saints ur either deluded about a) the pies position or b) saints and freo as there is no way that they will be that low. this is y i focused on ur complete lack of perspective wen talking about the pies.

dont troll collingwood fans about their intelligence when yours is obviously lacking. I never said the lions will finish six spots ahead of freo and the saints, I said you will finish in 6th, ahead of the dockers (7th) and the saints (8th). Simple enough for ya?
And if you think im deluded that Collingwood wont finish ahead of the Lions, put your money where your mouth is.

ah sorry, me overestimating ur intelligence again. u obviously meant 6th

:p:p

if u had bothered to read my first reply, u would hav seen that i too think that the pies will finish ahead of brissy. however, i said that it was childish that u emphatically exclaimed that 'there's 0% chance that lions will finish 2 spots above collingwood' as there obviously is.

'simple enough for ya'

To tell the truth I agree with the original proposition that the Lions will finish a couple of wins at least ahead of Collingwood. My reasons:

- The young Collingwood players won them a lot of games last year and even the most ardent Collingwood fan would concede that their young guys exceeded expectations last year. I think they will fall back to the pack this year as opposition coaches and players develop strategies to reduce their influence. Young teams usually yo yo early in the development curve and I am expecting Collingwood to follow the trend.

- The best of the Collingwood senior players don't have the class of other teams they will be competing against and I don't think they can lift the team if the younger guys struggle.

- The Pies won virtually all their close games last year and I expect them to drop a few of these next year.

- In recent years I have thought Malthouse's coaching has been very ordinary. Last year he did a very good job and everything he tried seemed to come off. That is probably not going to happen again especially given his strike rate with such calls in the 3 or so years before that.

- I understand that the Collingwood key positions drafted last year have looked very good but they will not have a significant impact this year. Second year key positions never do. They might flash talent but they never consistently impact games.

- The veteran Lions are as good as any in the competition and know what it takes to win it all.

- I rate the Lions young players up there with any in the competition and this year if they can stay on the park the Lions will be very strong this year. The likes of Adcock, Leuenberger, Stiller, Hooper, Rischitelli, Clark, Begley, Merrett and Sherman are already on show and looking good and we should see Proud, Tyler, Schultz, Sheldon and Hawksley make a significant impact this year. That is before we see what any of this year's crop has for us.

- The Lions seem finally to have all their guys fit. In each of the last two years the Lions have lead the competition in games lost through injury. This has given the Lions a chance to give a lot of players some experience and the competition for spots is going to be intense.

- Despite what a lot of opposition supporters think the Lions are very deep all over the ground and can cover for some injuries.

I actually like the young talent the Pies have got and think they will be a good team over the next few years, I just also happen to think they will have a down year next year. Conversely the Lions have a lot of young talent as well and think they are due some luck and if they have that they will be very tough to beat. A couple of wins difference is very possible.

Its all good, last year most "experts" tipped us to finish bottom four after we had finished 06 5th on the ladder. 07 was 6th with a PF appearence and still the detracters? Oh well you just cant make some folk see reason.

Time will tell. I have tried to give some reasons for what I think. Can't say much more really and this is certainly more than you have done. You are setting yourself up as an "expert" as much as I am by trashing anyone with an opinion. Feel free to actually give some reasons for your reasons so we can give your reasons the full consideration it deserves.

Brisbane can talk up their young players all they like but at the end of the day, no Brown, no finals for Brisbane.
That is your opinion I guess but the fact is that we have Brown so the point is moot. With Bradshaw and Clark I think we could cover if we lost Brown and certainly if Brown plays like he did in the second half of the year we are going to be very difficult to beat.

Oh thats right...

Dont get so defensive princess, the experts i was refering to are knobs like Mike Shehan, Robert Walls and almost any other bloke that gets paid to report on the AFL that was harking the downfall of the pies in 07.
The reasons I think that we will finish higher than your mob is we have more depth, a better crop of young blokes that will improve, and most importantly our youngsters have gotten a taste of final experience, had one foot in the door to the GF even. They are hungry and that hunger will catapult them into the top 4 next season whereas the lions I have already stated will finish 6th IMO. But if Browny goes down for any extended period, its about 13th possy for the Lions.

Mate, if you are going to take a post of of context, be prepared to look like a knobend.

If you bothered to look, you'd see that my post was a response to someone's implication that Brown was the only quality player we have.

Toddle off to bed now.

Dont get so defensive princess

Quigley makes a in-depth, constructive post and thats the best you can do?

The main board is slipping again.

Those who can barely string a sentence together are hailed as heroes.

Those that try to put together a reasoned argument are patronised and accused of being defensive.
