Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

do people think bartel offers great value to win geelongs @ 9.00?
I have him right up there with GAJ and is heading in the opposite direction as gary and building momentum
was surpised at his votes last year, for memory got 13ish, when i had him pencilled in for 7-8
Very good call. It is hard to see Gazza knocked off for most at Geel at this stage but by golly I would not be taking shorter than $1.70 or so about Gazza.
Bartel has had a good year and I have Gazza on 13 and Bartel 11 at the moment.
You are spot on re last yearwith Bartel and he greatly surpassed my expectations as well.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

ive gone
3. mitchell
2. hodge
1. Boyd (Possibly Lake)

I thought mitchell was outstanding and that snap goal was amazing. Hodge gave away quite a few free kicks and got a 50m penalty given away (bullshit call), but he was still probably BOG. Even though Lake had a few contested marks, many of his disposals were short kicks and i thought Boyd really dominated the midfield and if the bulldogs got up, i would have him for 2/3 votes.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

horrible news about barlow. i was really liking him this year. hope he has a speedy recovery and is back playing good footy again soon. pav and sandy for freo votes now then daylight.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Such a sad story re Barlow.

Helps Pavlich's and Sandilands chances though. I gave the 2 votes to Sandilands today, which takes him to 13 on my tally and well within reach of the leader.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Thompson should be in the votes again tonight. So happy I chucked money on him when he was out at $14 to win the most votes from Adelaide. :thumbsu:

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

I feel totally hollow in relation to the Barlow injury.
I can't believe that we've lost such a genuine contender in his first year. I hope like we all do that he recovers well.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Swanny right up there now with 3 votes last night. :thumbsu:

No one went near him all night. :thumbsu:

Channel 10 last night said Judd was into $13 after the Barlow injury, Hodge into equal favouritism with Ablett on $5.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

What's the bet Swan screws us over again this year but polls extremely well instead of the opposite as he did in 2009. A real chance again this year I'd say.

One issue with last night is against West Coast last year in round 9 he had around 38 touches/11 marks but didn't get the 3 votes. Jolly the only competition for the 3 last night - Didak was more a burst performance.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Just out of interest, here's how this weeks votes went going by the Champion Data Player Ranking scores. Just the three highest individual CPDRS from each game (running tallies are in parentheses), with no consideration for the scoreline. I also included a progressive leaderboard created by the same method too.

Despite the CDPR being the best all-round statistical measurement of a player's impact on the game (due to all the factors that go into it), obviously statistics aren't everything, so make of that what you will.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Cheers for the update again Damon :thumbsu:. How are people sharing the votes for the Saints v Melb game? I'm really struggling and have managed to put together........

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

What's the bet Swan screws us over again this year but polls extremely well instead of the opposite as he did in 2009. A real chance again this year I'd say.
He has to be seen as a massive risk to poll well. I just went back over his 2009 and he really was missed in games often where he had 30+ and kicked goals as well.
I think that I'll risk him again.
Gazza no votes today so sinking into real trouble now which is great for all of us. The value will still be there.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Leaderboard after round 14:

15 - C.Judd
14 - M.Barlow, L.Hodge
13 - G.Ablett, S.Pendlebury, D.Swan, L.Montagna
12 - N.Dal Santo
11 - M.Boyd, J.Bartel, L.Hayes, P.Chapman, J.Selwood, A.Sandilands, B. Goddard

Will be an interesting last 8 rounds, can't really see where the value is going to come from in the club votes unless you can pick a winner at Geelong or St Kilda with confidence. Might be a bit on offer for Scott Thompson and Jude Bolton at their respective clubs.
