Lindsay White (GEEL / Sth MELB)

47. 540, 142 Lindsay White (GEEL, Sth.M)

White was regarded as one of the best forwards of the 1940's. He was fast on the lead, was a strong overhead mark, he kicked 67 goals in 1941, his debut season for Geelong, but at the end of the year Geelong went into temporary recess due to travel restrictions during the Second World War and White transferred to South Melbourne.

He spent two seasons at South, kicking 111 goals in 25 games and won the league goalkicking in 1942.

White returned to Geelong for the start of the 1944 season, played through and was named club captain in 1948. In that year he again won the league goalkicking, with 86.

Lindsay White played until halfway through the 1950 season, retiring due to a debilitating injury to his achilles tendon.

Another 6 goals to go from Roughead and he overtakes Michael Tuck who's on 320 career goals and moves into ninth spot on Hawthorn's All time Goal kicking table. A pretty good effort from Roughead it has to be said. :)

Likely to finish the season ahead of Nick and Pav and be within striking distance of Milne and Browny in 2014.
Hypothetical...

(and yes, I know there is 1000+ post thread about this subject elsewhere..)

will this thread continue if Lance plays for another footy club in 2014?

Career average of 1.81 gls/gm compared to Roughy's 1.88.

Breust's got more names to takeover than Rough.

At the start of this thread, Buddy was hovering around the 175 goal mark I think.

Richard 'Dick' Harris

44. 548, 196 Dick Harris (RICH)

Richard Harris played between 1934 and 1944 for Richmond. He represented Victoria at interstate football playing a total of nine games for the state including a carnival in Perth. Harris played mainly as a rover and was highly successful in front of goals, kicking 51 in his debut season. He topped Richmond's goalkicking on three occasions and his career best was 64 goals in 1937. 'Dick' was a premiership player in 1934, he was a member of another Richmond premiership team in 1943 when he kicked seven goals in the club's five point win against Essendon. At the end of the 1944 season Harris left the league and joined VFA club Williamstown helping them to the 1945 premiership. He retired from football in 1953, age 41.
