Moved Thread Bulldogs & Kangaroos Merger - Time To Start The Negotiations

Fans who wish to see the death of another club are not fans of the game at all.

The AFL should have let Carlton die in the middle part of the last decade. AFL would be better off without the corruption they bring to the game.

So... you mean you're not a fan of the game?

Aaaah, another of the one-time premiership followers jumps in to defend his stablemates.

And given the off-season the Saints had, I'm not sure you're really in a position to be pointing the finger at others 'that they bring to the game'.

lol stablemates? Your debt ridden club is in their league buddy, you seem to think a merger between the two will rid them of all their debt.

Well why not merge the dogs, roos AND blues to create the North Western Blues, which will help you eradicate all the debt you've collected over the past 15 years. Would be a very easy merger, seeing as how all teams share the same colours. No heartache, no pain, no mess. That way ALL 3 clubs will survive whilst the two new teams enter the league. Problem solved!!

To any of you fools suggesting a merger or the death of a club put yourself in the shoes of a supporter of one of those clubs. If you are a Carlton supporter, and it was said that Carlton were going to merge, relocate or disappear and you don't like that possibility, then shut you mouth when it comes to any other club. All of us (or maybe most of us), grow up being passionate about the club we support. None of us want to see our own club gone. I guess none of you are old enough to have seen the death of Fitzroy, and what that did to their supporters. You cannot be a true football supporter if you want to see a club disappear.

So worry about your own club and not anyone else's, trolls.

Interesting attempt at a new argument, though personally I don't buy the whole 'you are poor on field so therefore must die' line of thought anyway.

I agree with you there, you can survive without onfield success (although it does help), just look at the Tigers.

However, the Tigers have been able to rely on the ongoing support of a rather large & highly loyal membership/supporter which unfortunately, the Kangaroos just don't have and if we're honest here, have never had.

If they did have the same level of support off the field, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Good response mate and I'm sure most fans of the game who truly love it would agree.

Unfortunately this type of response is wasted here.

Troll threads deserve troll responses.

why not piss off st kilda?
in over 100 years of football they have only reached the pinnacle once. why do they even bother turning out each year when they know what the end result will be.
at least the kangaroos have had some success.
merge st kilda and the dogs. that should get at least 2 flags in the next 100 years

Not at all, how many premierships has North won then ??

Grasping at straws now eh Sheik? very childish thread response.

1999 <<< that's all you need to know. :p

Take it easy with eating too MUCH YELLOW SNOW. ;)

Leicester City FC is s***. Im a Liverpool fan and you have never won a title compared to our 18. Your team should fold due to its absolute s***ness.

My thoughts exactly ...

There will be a surplus of players if two clubs merged so the players left over would either have to go into the draft or potentially be snaffled by an alternative new entity.

Your club was terrified of North Melbourne merging with Fitzroy back in 1996. There's no way you would allow North and the Bulldogs to combine lists.

What is this garbage doing on the main board?

Why are North supporters reticent to answer the question ??

A Sydney Swans fan already answered the response on the first page. Besides knee-jerk reaction to today's Bullies' Eagles flogging is not a sagacious time to prompt these conceited recommendations.

Carlton - 16 premierships & 3 spoons
North - 4 premierships & 13 spoons
Saints - 1 premiership & 26 spoons

2010 AFL club profits:

OPERATING PROFIT*
Hawthorn $2.2 million
St Kilda $1.7 million
Essendon $1.52 million
Geelong $1.3 million
Western Bulldogs $1 million
Collingwood $1 million
Richmond $759,000
Melbourne $724,000
North Melbourne $234,000
Carlton $125,000
* not including government grants

When business fails, time to shut the business down. Bye Bye Carltank :thumbsu:

and thats why leicester city are in the championship.
if we go by that logic st kilda should just go play in the vfl.
better?

My view is not a knee-jerk reaction to todays game, I have been of this opinion for some time now and this round's losses by the Dogs & Roos just exacerbates the fact.
