Bulldogs vs Freo, who will win?

bulldogs-
syd [scg] - 50-50

Sydney aren't a bad side and they're playing some good footy. But Doggies would have to be favourites simply because Sydney are the one team we seem to have few problems with. I don't remember the last time they beat us, and its often a pretty comfortable margin

I thought we had the massive wood on them too...but it's not as bad as it seems.

We have won our last 5 against the Swans dating back to 2008 - they won the 5 before that.

Funnily enough - we won the 5 prior to that.

Let's hope the trend is broken this time around.

You guys should win on form, but I have not been convinced by the Dogs week in week out all year. I have not been convincedof us of late by any stretch, however we have had limited resources for a while now.

We are almost back to full strength. We play Etihad well.

The interesting thing is that we have similar results against teams. Dogs have struggled to beat any top 4 side. Dogs seem to struggle against fast younger sides E.g Melbourne, Essendon. It seems any close matches have not been won. When they do win they win quite easily.

If Bulldogs are challenged, will they fold again? For us I believe we accept that we will most likely finsih 5th/6th, and unlikely to have a big impact in the finals. You guys are mounting a challenge toward finals. Pressure is on the Dogs.

SHould be an entertaining match. Freo by 4 points.

Have you heard of this great new invention where you plug your computer thingy into the spiderweb thingy and you can get like tv over the phone wires?

Seriously where have you been?

Most streams are extremely unreliable and awful to watch these days, and I wouldn't be blasting anybody who would want to put up with that to watch a neutral team.

And on topic, I'll say Bulldogs by 5 goals.

:eek::eek: That is the most bizarre statements I have seen in ages. Fremantle has won 9 games at etihad.......EVER, 2 of their 5 losses have been there this year including to Richmond couple of weeks ago and prior to this year hadn't won a game there since 2006.

Yes, prior to this year we couldn't play the ground. Now we are OK there. The Richmond game was awful, but we've beaten North (NAB cup ... whatever), Carlton, Essendon and pushed the Saints ... which is not bad form on a ground we previously couldn't win at.

Isn't it something like over 80% of teams that play in Darwin that the following week they lose and with considerable margins?

Last week's close win will give Freo a lot of confidence this week. I'm surprised so many of you are tipping the Dogs with such conviction.

Dogs should win easily.

We are still the 4th or 5th youngest team in terms of experience (games played). I think the Doggies have about an average of 50 games more experience per player.

Injuries to Barlow (huge) and poor form/suspected injury (Pav). Our midfield will get smashed against the dogs, we will rely on rebound from defence from Broughton, Dufield, Hayden and Mcpharlin.

If Pav regains form, Sandi has a blinder and Hill breaks free were a chance.

I'm tipping Freo, had a good wakeup call last week that a 4 quarter effort is required, that coupled with Dogs coming back from Darwin.

Still think the Dogs will be a threat in finals though.

Spot on. Doggies are NOT in the same grouping as Saints, Pies and Cats.

But, as with this game, on the day .... who knows. I tend to agree with one of the other Freo supporters who said they thought it would be close to half time, then Dogs pulling away a little after that.

I wouldn't back us, but we're a chance. The Dogs are not in the same class as the top 3 teams and have quite a few weaknesses. But they're a highly skilled team with a far superior midfield. And we're getting players back. McPharlin and Broughton will be better with a run under their belt last weekend, and hopefully Tarrant comes up this week.

So you never know.

I dont expect us to win. But 3.60 is well worth a hit.

There is no such thing as an easy game. We've played a lot better in games were we've been the hunters. Danger game for the Bullies.
