I have a very stong feeling that Kane Lucas will be taken by the Crows with pick 13. I did predict Dangerfield in 07, but like most had Trengrove going to us in 08. 2/3 aint bad if Lucas gets picked by Crows. Im a PAC boy and I'm quite sure that Tapscott wont be staying in South Australia next year.

Anyone else surprised by Burgan predicting Panos to go pick 54. I thought a lot higher than that. Also thought he'd be in consideration at pick 29. But if hes still there by pick 45 hes ours! Mark that down.

Yeah he's very similar but I see much more talent in Lewis.
Leroy had a lot of talent* at the time, and was a lot more highly rated than Lewis is right now in a much stronger draft. You're only saying that because you've seen Leroy at AFL level for 3 years.

*Talent against young underage players/WAFL.

I'm not sold on Jetta. The quality players have a "look" about them when they're playing and to me this kid doesn't have it. Betcha anything we don't go near him.

Lucas last game in the WAFL was very impressive, 30+ touches and 3 goals, likes to play as an outside midfielder however can win his own footy

I agree, this lad may be flying under the Radar

Im starting to warm towards Kane Lucas, that is only if Sheppard is not available

The thing to remember when trying to get an idea of who the good ones are is that once the draft is done people forget about draft order. It is commonplace for someone picked in the third round to end up well inside the top 10 best players drafted that year, with so many players touted as the best in their position in the draft not getting close to expectations. It's a lot harder to get a good gauge on a player pre-draft than post-draft because we're looking at them with preconceptions in mind about where they fit into the order.

There has been a lot of talk about Sheppard but as with Jetta I don't quite see what everyone else seems to. Rendell has been quiet on Lucas too hasn't he?

I have to agree, Jetta is too much of a risk. I would much rather pounce on Lucas if he's still available. If he isn't then I would be happy with Stevens, Moore, JMP, Sheppard (think he'll be taken by West Coast at #7) or a risk on Bartlett.
I thought Kane would drop but I think he will be going to Essendon at pick 10.
Man this is the most interesting first round.

Looks like Rendell is trying to goad Port in picking Tapscott inside the top 10, so that someone else slides.

Or is it a double bluff?!

Who knows! All I know is that I really don't investigate any nominees, or get attached to any name in particular, because it's a bit pointless when those players go elsewhere. I prefer to wait for the draft to happen, then read all the bios, "sucked in", complaints and "why did we pick him?" comments afterwards, so I'm only getting to know our players.
