C Judd - Carlton - Who won the trade now??

Of course Carlton won the trade. West Coast knew that Carlton were going to win the trade but they had no power. Judd wanted to leave and there was nothing they could do so they got what they could.

No argument about how much the WCE love Cuz. A totally different situation between Juddy leaving for Carlton and Cuz getting sacked.

Unfortunately Weagles fan's thought Cuz was hard done by and that's part of the reason they followed him to RFC. I wouldn't expect the same for a player who decided to leave himself.

I just wonder if Juddy was still at the Eagles if there would have been as big an outcry over Cuz getting suspended and the sacked. I'm thinking that after Juddy left then Cuz got suspended the WCE fans started to think the club was falling to pieces. With Judd still around there was still alot to get excited about.

So in my ficticious trade would you have liked to keep Judd or Cuz?

I think if Judd had left and Cuz hadn't caused the giant uproar and stayed, the club would be in a much better position than if Cuz had caused the uproar, left and Judd stayed. I just think the Cousins affair was a real turning point for WC, and in a very negative way.

The fact is that the eagles side where able to win without Cousins and Judd quite comfortably pre-cousins fiasco; but afterwards it all turned into dogcrap. And whilst i think there are many reasons behind it, the cousins drama was a real moment that things spiralled downwards.

The very fact that this happened doesnt show just how much Cousins was loved, but just how pathetic some of your so called 'supporters' actually are!!!

Hey, you don't see me disagreeing.

Some of the blowhards waxing lyrical about all sorts of nonsense, would do well to take note of the simple, compelling logic of the post quoted above

C Judd another brownlow to go with his best and fairests, .............

Congratulation Chris Judd 2010 Brownlow Winnerr, a worthy winner and a champion footballer.

So does anyone who thinks Carlton lost the trade now? (insert tumbleweeds)

If Carlton traded Judd and pay him $1.2m for the sole purpose of winning a Brownlow, yeah then you "won".

Congrats. :thumbsu:

Chris Judd winning an individual award doesn't really reflect a success for Carlton as much as it does for Chris Judd. The fact that Kade Simpson was your next highest votegetter with 9 speaks volumes of the real state of the Carlton list, especially in light of having Marc Murphy (5), Bryce Gibbs (6) and even Kreuzer (1) as No.1 picks.

Bryce Gibbs' 6 votes was only beaten by 6 Geelong players, and of those 6, S Johnson beat him by 1 and Chapman and Bartel beat him by 2; what does that say about Geelongs list??

I find these threads pretty pointless.

1. Fair trade: Fact is, pick 3, Kennedy and pick 18 was a very fair deal. How WCE use these picks is another matter. But the trade is fair.

2. Josh Kennedy will be a good player for another 8 years. This will include 4 years or so where he is playing (in a good WCE side that has been rebuilt) and Judd has retired. So it's still too early to assess, even if you want to make these assessments.

3. Making any assessment on the basis of Brownlow wins is ridiculous. Players play for premierships. Judd made the point. Carlton has a great group of youngsters and in two years will be seriously challenging for a flag.

4. If you still want to make an assessment, base it on whether Judd helps the Blues to a flag in the next 2-3 years (I think he will). If you want to make a proper assessment, wait until Kennedy has retired and see whether he has helped WCE to a flag. (Masten too).

Enough of these stupid, self-congratulatory threads.

Quality post this.

Even if picks 3 and 20 were used on the absolutely best available (in hindsight) ... so 3 - Rioli, 20 - Pears, Judd was worth it. Carlton was on its knees and needed something more than what a bunch more talented kids could provide. Judd has played the part absolutely perfectly. He is an absolute star both on and off the field for the blues.

Sorry to disagree but taking away the Drug additiction, I think the few years before Judd left the Eagles he had taken over the mantle of being the heart and soul of your club.

No.
Cousins always, always was the heart and soul of West Coast during that era.

I thought it was pretty obvious i was expressing my displease at the Eagles for delisting Notte but whatever, call me a ******** if you like.

Notte was always going to be a long term project, had the talent but just needed to be nurtured. Getting shoved in the backline was never going to do him any good.

I believe he was the difference between the Judd trade, as West Coast could have settled their KPF for the next decade in 2007.

Yep, I agree with you. Lack of patience with Notte imho. Maybe there's more to it behind closed doors is all I can think.

Carlton Football Club haven't won anything since he arrived, so irrespective of West Coast's position it would be a long bow to draw which suggests they won.

Nil all draw.

Neither have Collingwood Football Club.

If west coast win a premiership with Kennedy or Masten in the team then they win the trade.

Its pretty obvious Carlton wont be winning a premiership with Judd in the team so only time will tell now.
