If Stewart is so good then how come when Cameron, Patton and Lobb are injured/suspended he still can't get a game? List clogger. No improvement on Jaksch, who can't even get a game for us.
You want pick 5 you need to put up something decent. I wouldn't worry because I can't see us trading it.

When were those 3 injured/suspended plus last year we had McCarthy. All better than anything at Carlton.

He was kidding. Making a point that 5 could be on the table for the right price.
Get it now you point it out. My post was a genuine laugh not looking for a fight. Bit of a fright maybe.
I'm not great at trade hypotheticals but something will get done that works I'm sure. No one gsins sending him to the draft. Pick 5 handy if we can use it to prise Breust from the Hawks. Might take some pain for us though.

Collingwood offered Marchbank 600k a season over 3-4 and Carlton offered more then that. Take how you want too.
Oh dear ... so let's break this down logically ...

In your mind (let's face it that's all it is) you believe Collingwood offered Marchbank 600,000 a year.

Because Marchbank chose Carlton they would of had to of offered him at least 600,000 a year also.

Because we offered him 600,000 a year he is worth pick 5.

Going back to the "fact" that Collingwood offered 600,000 (and that equals pick 5), how were they expecting to do a trade with GWS when their first pick will be at 26 (incidentally still higher than our second pick at 23?

Your logic doesn't add up!

I think he means when one was missing he still couldn't get a game. He would get a game for us but I doubt he would for any finals side and that's where we should be aiming in the next few years so I hope like hell we give nothing of value up for him.

Nope, Collingwood offered him that. Get over it.

.....and he still chose Carlton, even at a discounted rate.

Collingwood offered 600K and you're happy about that?
Never really cared because we had nothing to get him with. I'll be happy when Carlton blow another first round pick.

So you offered him 600K and then realised..........oops..........we've got nothing to give GWS back.

You think that is how your club works? Seriously?

No thats just my opinion. Club probably did have something to give but I doubt I'd of agreed to what have been traded.

Look. Carlton did not give up 600K for Marchbank.

That's simply nonsense. I don't believe that Collingwood would have either, if that makes things any better.

Haven't been through this thread but I would've thought:
GWS: give pick 7 and marchbank to blues
Blues: give Pick 5 and 23 (or next years 2nd) to GWS

Values marchbank at 17 according to points which must be close...?
I rate marchbank around 13-18

Settle down... your common sense and logic is not wanted here....

My apologies. I'll replace with a five club super trade idea soon

Good. Now keep it realistic and have Carlton ending up with Marchbank, Darling and 4 picks in the top 15 for the net loss of a 2nd rounder and Everitt.

We may be able to get Marchbank & Stewart for a few picks in the 2nd round.

Why would we deviate from that and downgrade 10 places in the first round?

How do you get these picks in the second round? They would want to be early second rounders. Not by trading anyone, no one you would want to let go would get you near a top 25 pick.

In my mind , pick 5 is a bit overs for a guy with injury trouble who hasn't yet established himself in the afl. Your second rounder is way under. Gws would highly value 2017 picks, and will be scarce as teams won't want to deal them this year. I think a good deal would be March and stewert for blues 2016 and 2017 second rounders. It's probably unders to be honest, But I don't think stewert has established himself to be worth too much though and 2017 picks would be valuable so gws may see value in it. Otherwise pick 5 for the two players with a high second rounder coming back, but don't see that gws would want to part with a pick in the teens back as that is too valuable in bidding for their legion of academy players who will be bid on just before say pick 15.

Stupid stupid suggestion

i should see if russelleberthandball can track down the original article he posted on our board a while back and have mods pin it on the d and t board, it listed the amount of players in what pay brackets in the entire afl. There was only about three players for each team on about 600k plus. Marchbank would not be offered anywhere remotely near that level. If we can pin that to the board then maybe we would have less shitposting around here.

Last year everyone told us that Geelong wouldn't give us a first rounder for Henderson, Bell wouldn't get us pick 21 from Brisbane, and we'd receive pick 32 for Yarran.

There are so many moving parts to each trade that we don't know which picks we, or any other club will have to deal with.

Good to discuss - but too early to know what will happen. We will need plenty of picks in top 30 to draft some mids this year and next. There are some players that are going to be up for grabs like Tuohy, Gibbs and second stringers like Bell last year where picks can be accumulated.

This would be about right. Any add ons like Stewart/Pickett/Other fringe player are not going to make the deal worth enough to get pick #5 on its own. Its not NBA Live 96, where you can trade a whole heap of junk for a star cause the total values equate.
