It doesn't have to happen in a year but it needs to happen in the short term.

What needs to happen in a year is for the club to become more accountable from the Pres down to the boot studder.
We do slip over a lot. Who the hell is the nuffie turning the screws?

I reckon Phillips can be replaced he is not in the same category as the other 2.

Poulter's progress is going a long way to replace the on-field contribution of Phillips. Ditto McCreery the scoreboard impact of Stevo. The counter argument though will always be that we could have had all 4 players.

Poulter be lot better player then Phillips and I say even now he is about as good as him

I think he's got a higher ceiling and his 1st few games would measure up to those of Phillips I'd have thought. Still got a way to go to match Phillips though. In his 3rd season Phillips was getting north of 30 possessions. That's big.

Poulter,s disposal is already better than Phillips though and that gap will only widen with experience and he looks like he runs both ways .

People quickly forget how good Philips was when played in his preferred position

He was nothing Special.

Elite Endurance that let him get lot of Touches but ball use was nothing Special

Been the two best kids so far but the early comparisons sometimes go too far. Poulter has shown great early signs but 3 games is far from established. Hope he is better than Phillips but if he can be as good that wont be too bad. It would be a massive result for McCreery to get anywhere hear Stevo however. Not you but i think too many build kids up early then end up with unrealistic expectations and final disappointment.

Cal Brown in 2020 played 22 games and looked on the verge of really stepping up. He had a step and a turn of speed that looked like he could become solid. hasn't work out that well yet and a fair chance never but its a brutal game , he puts in and is no where near as bad a people think. My comment is general not directed to you as you give our players a chance but these kids need plenty of time.

At his best at Collingwood he was a good ordinary workhorse type.
Which will be what we will get out of a lot of the 2019/20 class. We need our next crop of workhorses but sometimes are too ready to throw out the current crop

Agree on Poulter and McCreary at this early stage but reckon Wilson and Bianco will be the two who can become future guns

Wilson and Bianco has good Potential but they not shown it at AFL Yet.

Hopefully Wilson keeps his spot and Bianco Debuts on Sunday

Posters used to regularly go to great lengths to tell me different Dave.

Phillips was earning the combined salary of three of those players. I prefer the odds of rolling the dice on the new kids. If one turns out to be as good as Phillips and another turns out to be better ... we are ahead. And back on thread topic... Poulters looking good!

You say that like it's a bad thing.
There is no point having a gun inside brigade (which we don't currently) unless there are players running hard enough to get in front or out wide of the play to receive it.

There's a reason we can't run out games right now and are getting mutilated on the spread most weeks. We don't have enough above average runners (most aren't even that) and Phillips was elite in this regard. He was a very important cog.
