I must admit the people on one side of me in the row I was in sat silent for the whole game no clapping no cheering no comments or anything I found it quite off putting, the only support they could give was the fact they dressed in freo gear. As soon as the match was over they were out of there so fast, I hope we don't end up with to many of the silent supporters next Friday night

I feel ya. Sit somewhere different every home game and feel extremely lucky when we get around a vocal section.

With only 2 home game losses this year so far, 2 in 2014 and 1 I think in 2013 we're getting comfy with winning. Tight games are always better such as the Collingwood home game this year.

I think though there's a much deeper psychology to it though that I won't bother going into deeper - such as society's increasing withdrawal into technology and the comfort of their insular homes and lifestyles, for example a family of 4 at one home game this year sat in front of us and were all hooked in to Ipads, smart phones and portable gaming devices. They didn't say a word to each other or get into the game.

Our expanding population also means that people are less trusting of each other and willing to socialise.

Totally agree with all the above. The noise and Atmosphere was no way near what we showed in the past.It could be that the expectations were high or the fact that there will always be another chance the following week.
Friday night will be different i hope, I for one will not stop cheering for the whole game,we need to intimated the visitors to pave our way to the MCG.
Let's make Hell on Earth for the visiting team.I am so restless and nervous.
GO FREOOOOOOOOOO....

There might also be fewer neutrals at the Prelim given the prices ($170 FFS!!). I went to both Qualifying Finals - not because I'm a Freagle, but because I wanted to watch a good football match - but there is no way I could justify $170 to go and see the WC Prelim. Plus, going to the WC prelim would make me nauseous, unless WC lost.

Anyway, point is, with much more at stake, fewer neutrals, and a better timeslot, I think the crowd will be well and truly up and about and ready to play their role.

As the great Bernd Stange once said, it's time to turn Subiaco Oval into a cauldron of fear!!

You are really not making sense with this post.

I love the smug certainly WC are going to win their prelim.

EABOD"S you slime supporting *******.
Where did I say we were going to win? I said it would be great to hear you guys start a chant before the game to put the Hawks of there game. I also said I hope you pump them, can't stand the Hawks. Wanna have a go at me go for it, but don't put words into my mouth.

I must admit that on the television last Saturday arvo sounded unusually quiet for a Freo home game. On Friday night I want Hawthorn to feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable from the second they hit the ground and deafeningly loud support for the Freo boys. I think the fact it's a night game, place in the Grand Final on the end of it, and the fact that it's Hawthorn will all contribute to this. Come on Freo!

I will be loud for sure!! If every second person screams we will be loud.

Friday night will be a different story. People will be angry after a week of crappy work, they will have a few beers in their bellies and Freo fans probably despise the Hawks more than West Coast right now. I am also practicing my circular breathing techniques that way I can booo nonstop.

Why do these eagles fans get constantly lost on our board im sure if u went to all the other team boards u wouldnt see opposition fans posting
As long as they do it in the right way, they are welcome here, its what make this forum so good. Dont join Bigfooty and mouth off at people who have been posting here for years.

Yep, a week of dealing with idiots at work always does the trick.

Can't wait and plan to have completely lost my voice by full time. Will just need it back in time for the WAFL grand final on Sunday.

I wrote about this elsewhere but:
Say this turns out to be potentially Pav's last game!....This alone should be added motivation for a rabid purple army to effect the game!
I hope that IF he is retiring, he lets us all know.....This could be the "X" factor that makes sure his final Freo game is in a winning GF!!
