How do you Freo fans rate Suban ? Is he a decent player ?

Penetrating left boot, hard as a cat's head and a real leader of men. Would VERY reluctantly part with him, you'd need to throw in a sweetener as a straight swap alone wouldn't cut it.

"Fremantle's first picks this year and next, even if they finished in the top-four both years, would be the equivalent of one pick placed at about number five"

Thanx for the link. The new rules seem like the most complicated ever made in any sporting draft system in the world. My understanding is that GWS would benefit greatly from a couple of extra picks in the second round too. Multiple picks seem to have more value than high picks in the 'real' draft. Two late first rounders would give you a top five pick in the real trading system IMO. I think if we can trade Clarke and a first round pick for the Western Bulldogs first and second picks it will greatly assist GWS to pick up the NSW players they are targeting. Perhaps our next two first picks and Clarke (with Clarke and our first and second pick for Bulldogs 1st and second pick)is a genuine trade that could be in the works.

We Get: Mcarthy and Bulldogs second round pick.
Bulldogs get Clarke and our first round pick.
GWS get 2015 Bulldogs first round pick and 2015 Fremantle second round pick and 2016 first round pick Fremantle. GWS use points for academy players.

Fyfe can kick on his left though, Neale continually bananas it just to move the ball forward whereas mundy and fyfe can hit up targets with the wrong side of their body.
This is just stupid. Neale has been one of the best ball winners all season with Fyfe and Mundy. Just cause he had a poor game last night with 15 or so others. Neale is our future going forward and is only 22. Has a bright future ahead of him, he can only get better.

I'm not baggin out Neale, he is 100% the future i was just pointing out the other guy was right, Lachie does not have a left boot hopefully it is something he works on over the off season to take his game to the elite level!

If a club recruited Neale as a kid with a pick around 5ish you would now think your recruiter is a genius. He is very good and will get better. I would hang on to him at all costs. He was a steal!!
Lyon hit the nail on the head in his presser when he said offense needs to improve. Either get McCarthy and/or (preferably and) a very good mid - maybe FA and play Fyfe forward. Not sure whether the young talls recruited recently will come up??? Tabener looks like he may well be ok in a couple of years - to good for WAFL but just finding his AFL feet - its a wait and see with fingers crossed.

And possibly GWS will be unrealistic about what they want. "1st round plus Neale thanks".

Well...no
We'll just concentrate on our other area of weakness...ball movement...Bennell/Jetta, and come back for Cam later

Fyfe can push forward more with a Bennell playing but also Apeness and Taberner become more effective with competent ball users kicking to them.

Who'd come cheaper??

Isn't Bennell linked with Richmond?

Missing out on either one of them is sheer incompetence. I'd like both (prefer Jetta - proven player) but either would be great.
Bennell has proven himself as a player, and while Jetta is a legit upgrade on a few of our players, he's not as classy as Harley. The concern over Bennell is whether or not he'll stay out of trouble. We are going to be losing a few senior players over the next few years and really can't afford to be pissing away draft picks.

That's the gamble isn't it.
At this point I feel we should still chase the dream so getting either or preferrably both these players would be great.

Problem is even if we snare these guys we still need a KPF or two...

Can we pull McCarthy/Jetta/Bennell off ?

TBH, I doubt it. We might get McCarthy and one of Bennell/Jetta though.
Pick up Leuy as an FA to replace Clarke
Bootsma (Who I think we could play in the fwd line) as a late/rookie, and perhaps snare a Shoey or Black would be about as close to a dream offseason for us as you can get. Of course reality will most likely play out much differently, but I can dream.

Off topic, I'd like to see us swap D.Pearce and Walters position wise, next year. I'd like to see Hill at half back with Jetta/Bennell on the opposite wing to walters delivering the ball. Again, won't happen, but again, I can dream.

Even if we don't get McCarthy we have to do something to get a KPF.

I still think we really need Jetta to improve the team though. Quality player.

Jetta a quality player? We must watch a different player.

Doesn't hurt to dream.

Plenty are going to write Freo off but I honestly still feel we can still remain a genuine contenter WITH the right list management. Things cannot stay the same. The Pavlich/McPharlin era is over. We need to move on and adapt - or perish. Looking at the possible trades it is still possible to energise the current list and have another red hot crack. To me this includes bringing Weller and Grey into the fold. Either Mzungu or Clancee have to go - cant keep two of the same player. Bless them they are hard as steel and I like both for their grunt however their disposal is an issue. Sandilands looks like he'll be good to go around again.

Clarke and Crozier are up for trade.

After the Sylvia debacle I doubt whether Freo will take a punt on Bennell. We have all heard the one about Leopards and spots. Just ask the Lions about Fev. Forget it. Go all out for McCarthy. Do not trade Neale under any circumstances unless you get a deal to good to refuse eg the Dees pick 6 plus Howe and something back to the Dees Paul Roos would look at it but would not happen!!!.
Go for a FA mid quality player - move Fyfe forward. Use this years first rounder plus say trade a fringe player (Clarke????) as starters for McCarthy. GWS can use later picks for points towards their academy picks.
