Same year, different game. That one where we the heavens opened up was against Melbourne. I think there was a point the difference at 3/4 time and we lost by about 35 points. And I was far enough under cover that I just copped some spray, but the people below us looked like they has just taken a fully clothed dunk in the Swan.
Ah yes now I remember.. being dunked in Swan is a very accurate description, the bloody rain blew inwards from the west into the stand. Next year we moved to 311 undercover at the Subi end and of course then we didn't get any significant rain at the footy for about 5 years.

haha - that rain was completely insane! The following year we moved to 153 - beautifully positioned on the wing, but right out in the open. We get drenched when it really chucks it down, but we've been there for 13 years now, and I'll be bloody salty if I don't get a nice spot on the wing at the new stadium.

At the pub today watching the hawks and egirls and playing pool.( i was driving and on the lite stuff). Who should walk in totally wasted?
My partner (who knows nothing about afl) point out that it was Cam. My egirl mate started with the trash talk about all the shit that has been talked about for the last year and a half.
It wasn't until i pointed out that this bloke didn't have tats that they believed me that it wasn't Cam.
I spoke to the ****wit, and he said that he trys to look like Cam even gets the same hair cuts. Uses it to pick up girls and have fun.

Excellent! Just like foreign leaders have doppelgangers impersonating them to protect against the chance of assassination (at least in a Jack Higgins book I read once) so too will this man be our new defence against any attempted character assassination of the Chosen One.

a) He's not a number 1 position KPF and shouldnt be expected to be
b) If the delivery into our forward line was even 50% better he would kick an extra goal or two per game
c) He's 21 ffs
d) This trading pick 3 for him bs is getting old. We traded Taranto/McCluggage for Logue, Hamling/Cox (however you want to look it) and McCarthy
People that were expecting Pav 2.0 from the first year have no clue

Well said m8, I can't be arsed responding to these clowns who can't see the big picture,
As If anyone expected to win that game, it has given the kids invaluable experience and shown them what they are capable of
Obviously Kersten hasn't fired a shot yet which is disappointing,
With a fit Fyfe, Sandi, and Bennell who knows we probably win. It aint all doom and gloom
Simply isn't a key forward. He struggles when he team up with Kersten. Needs a full forward as foil, Jeremy Cameron and Patton plus Lobb were getting the better defenders. Time to play Darcy as resting ruck and Tabs as main forward. He did well when Kersten/Tabs/McCarthy played together

An interesting view on the trade I had when thinking about it the other day is this, if we didn't use pick 3 to get Cam we probably would have had to use a 2nd.
Pick 38 for example. In other words fair chance we don't have Sean Darcy on the list.
Patton was injured and Lobb was just ok back then. Main difference was the fact GWS midfielders applied commonsense and kicked it to his lead/advantage. We bomb it to him......shit coaching. When he's having a quiet one, Ross should have McCarthy playing up the ground, he's a good ball user and getting cheap marks will bring him into the game. He's playing very poorly, but he isn't being helped much by the coaching of the forwards and midfielders

Yep, however way you want to look at it, if we didnt do the trade, we dont have one of Hamling, Cox or Darcy, we simply couldnt get enough 2nd round picks to get them all done
