1) Playing with 3 defenders on him? Pretty normal, you'd back him to kick 4-5 on a normal night.

2) Playing with your best defender on him? With no-one to block his space? That's pretty scary. Fev's combination of strength and speed is unmatched by most no.1 defenders.

3) Your 2nd best defender on him? Good Luck. Expect your man to be demoralized as Fev takes marks like it's a man against a kid.

Scenario (3) is what is going to happen now that he's at Brisbane. We have created a monster. With Brown taking the no.1 defender each week...:(

Yeah, you would think with this deal done the Lions are going to be up there with Collingwood, Adelaide, Bulldogs and Hawthorn for top 4 contention next year. It's going to be one hell of a season.

Forget about next season. This deal goes through, they'll be premiers. Start focusing on 2011.

The ball will only have to enter the attacking 60 and it'll wind up being a score. Jono Brown and Fev will be the perfect storm.

Imagine if you will, Ablett Snr and W Carey playing FF and CHF respectively.

Now I want you to imagine that they are wearing the same jumper.

Rutten and Bock alternating depending on who plays deep, with Otten and if necessary Stevens filling the hole in front.

Yeah, not really all that scary to be honest.

I'd be more worried about how Fevola handles suddenly no longer being the number one banana in the forward line, let alone the team anymore. Can he handle not being the centre of attention with big Jono Brown being numero uno in that club, someone he won't be able to bully?

It isn't a problem for us, while it is unfortunate that Presti doesn't get to humilate both of them in seperate games as he does each year, at least it will give Leroy another chance to take Brown to the cleaners.

Supposedly the main reason Fev nominated Collingwood was so he could escape the pasting Presti gives him.

Will be absolutely fascinating to watch.

Firstly, I don't reckon that a 80 goal a year forward + a 80 goal a year forward = 160 goals- there is only so much opportunities to go around, and they are going to have to get good at finding space for each other.

Still, this may be the greatest key forward combo in living memory. And with the likes of Black and Rich delivering to them. **** me.

My thoughts exactly. Him and Brown are good mates but that can turn sour quickly.......both their egos are massive. It may pay off, may not.

how do they both fit in there? ablett barely had enough room for just himself.

Fool! Have you not heard of the "Fusion" technique?

Bear witness!

Carey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brown

Ablett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fevola

Carey + Ablett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brown + Fevola.

Carey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brown

Ablett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fevola

Carey + Ablett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brown + Fevola.

I believe this to be mathematically correct :thumbsu:

Wow. You've disproved a simile  The point was that Fev is a gun FF and Brown is a gun CHF. But of course, a simple comparison to the situation simply must be picked apart individually.

The main points of discussion in my mind were, Fev is a strong mark, can pull off the impossible shot with alarming regularity and a dead-eye d*** within 60. Brown has the same courage as Carey and is also a strong mark plus a safe shot at goal.

But gone ahead and nitpick :):thumbsu:

the situation didn't really call for a simile though, did it? perhaps instead of saying what you did you could have said:

Imagine if you will, Fevola and J Brown playing FF and CHF respectively.

Now I want you to imagine that they are wearing the same jumper.

Perhaps. But I like to use hyperboles and other devices for emphasis.

Metaphors, similes, and analogies never hold up to closer scrutiny anyway. I'm surprised people jumped so quickly on it.
