No soup for you, Toady!
Why was my post deleted?? I wasn't having a go at Carlton.
I just suggested that last year's slogan was better as it was more Carlton like. ie arrogant. I meant it in a good way.
Or was it because I suggested that saying 'at least people will notice us' is as far from arrogant as you can get?
Not all non-Carlton posters are trolls. I'll presume it was you Mediumsizedred as you have since replied in the same thread...
Any chance you could tell me what was wrong with my post? And why pure shit-stirring posts by blatant Essendon trolls are left yet mine is deleted.
"They're leading the way because they're putting their marketing out there a little bit more than what most other clubs would," Hughes says.
Link"The clubs aren't going after their core markets so much any more; they're going after secondary markets," he says.
"That doesn't change a lot, but what does change is those people who will push the membership numbers up by an additional five or ten thousand to make the club very profitable."
I think Carlton realises that they're not just about AFL, they're not just about sport; they're about entertainment too. They have to get their members - their consumers - excited about their brand."
"I give Carlton credit for recognising that. I think it's going to be very successful."
How about the term "attention seeking piece of rubbish"? Do you really think something like this is reasonable on a team board? You post something like this & you are guaranteed to have your post deleted.
Jesus, for a 46 year-old, you're bloody precious, I think that Carlton fans can handle it. Besides, Im only agreeing with the majority of you.
Miles away from the worst thing said in this thread.
Oi, MSR, what happened to the post where I apologise to everyone I have ever annoyed or insulted on here?
i came up with a better marketing campaign in 2 minutes.
start with the slogan "they're back" from whatever horror movie it was from then show highlights of some of your grand final wins over the years then ratten steps up with judd and co at the end of the highlights and they say 2010, time to make our own memories or something to that affect.
done.
But that was last season, and means very little going into 2010.
I'm trying to work out what happened between a 100pt humiliation in a final and now that's made Essendon so cocky ????
.. looks like the old Essendon spin-doctoring is working overtime again !!
Looks like it's the Richmond influence from the albino.
100 point flogging and losing three of their most important players, with maybe more still to leave, look out for them next year
Strangely enough, neither do Essendon's wins over Carlton in 2009. Or are you another one of the BF juveniles who still likes to use the past when it suits your argument?
Carlton have outperformed Essendon over the last 2 seasons, demonstrating exactly where both teams are at in their development. Any Essendon supporter that takes comfort from a couple of wins over Carlton, in a season when the Bombers dropped games against Richmond, West Coast & Freo (by 54 points) in the run home to the finals has set their standards relatively low.
Here's what counts tossbag. The bummers have now lost Lloyd, Lucas, Lovett, McPhee and their great hope in the forward line in Neagle is going to miss nearly all the pre-season, and Gumbleton will last about 5 minutes into the year. Not a good time to bottom out.
How are we being cocky exactly? I don't see anything in our slogan suggesting we expect to win a flag next year.....
cheers dude.
OK I'll leave you all alone now as it seems this is just going to go in circles. But thanks for arguing anyway, it's all in good fun. Good luck to both of our teams, cause we are both going to need it.
I'm not here to antagonize, as I can understand the idea of creating a campaign that will get people talking, but you'd think there would be ways to do that with out puting a huge target on your players and supporters. Referencing smell will definitely bring out the school yard jokes from opposition supporters and may publicly undermine the intent of the message. At least you're puting it out there.
If the message is poor, than it doesn't matter how many times it's repeated. Ultimately it encourages opposition supporters to buy memberships, so they can watch Carlton try and live up to the hype. Thanks Carlton.Well that's the whole idea. It's actually targeting the dim minded anti-Carlton audience who'll use their simple intellect to make up some sort of childish remarks. The marketers know that, and that's why it was designed that way. The more times it gets repeated, the more successful the campaign will be. You've been suckered in already. How does it feel? lol. You won't be the only one. It's already the most successful marketing campaign for season 2010 with plenty of media coverage, and has attracted a huge amount of attention from the anti-Carlton supporter group. Perfect.

Your pre-school brother needs a whack upside the head for helping you out with this effort. Awful.
