Carey or Ablett

To be noted that Ablett kicked about 120 career goals against your hapless team, no wonder you're contributing that . That's about 6 goals every time he played Richmond. Yep, he'd be hated if you weren't mesmerised by his ridiculous skill set. His 89 contribution nearly single handedly got us there against a simply superior and brilliant team, and he got us there as well. Carey was b ever BOG or that influential in NM's 2 flags that he played in.
I was at the game in 89. 9 goals from a wing in the first half.

Then drifted forward.

14 he ended up with

Freak.

Me too, my wife's birthday, unreal performance.
8 goals on debut in SOA after something like 8 career VFL games.

Freak of nature. He's nicknamed superman for a reason.

True.
I do recall Carey's first SOO game, and he certainly stood out as a player to be noticed. Easily my 2 GOAT players.

Ablett more pure talent.
Carey a better leader and influence on team.
Ablett more of a shit human. To be fair Carey was pretty bad (glassing his girlfriend probably the worst) but Gary’s contribution to the overdose death of a fan tips him over the edge.

Neither should be held up on a pedestal for their contribution to society.

I'll say this one last time - and if someone else posts falsities I'm going to lose my shit because I was friends with Alisha and was trying to help her fight addiction.

Stop the mindless trolling in regards to something you know nothing about and only heard in the news.

And it was well before she met Snr because I was there the night they met.

Yeah Ablett has detailed the cocktail of drugs they had that night and what they did together. He got them from his friend and Gary shared them with her. He told police this and it’s well documented.

A really sad story. While not punished, Gary took responsibility, in the end.

What else could he say. Like I said, nobody has a clue so stop trolling.

If you can't get the gist of my last post ...

I leave it there.

That’s fine mate but Gary has documented the event to police and it’s been made public. It’s not a troll, but a fact.

I’ll take that over anything some Geelong fan that idolises Ablett has to say about the matter.
Happy to leave it there as it’s pretty clear.

I'm not taking about that particular night.

If I told you to jump off and bridge I'm taking it you would?

My point is, when you're an addict it doesn't matter who or where you get it from.

One thing is for sure, Carey always looked as though he enjoyed himself and was pretty happy with some of his exploits.

Ablett looked depressed and nonchalant even when he would produce something spectacular. Rarely celebrated. The game seemed to be a bit of a burden.
Memories of this season, not often played, and hardly depressed. He was nonchalant maybe, but very supportive of his teammates

How do you stop the bloke?

You get a chainsaw and cut his legs off. Lol.

As the article I quoted made clear, Carey didn’t need big individual stats to make a difference. As long as his paddock was performing as intended, he was doing his job. Well enough to win multiple flags. Whereas Ablett was a one trick pony. Mark and score goals and pretty much nothing else. if he was a little bit more team-oriented he probably would have a won a premiership during his career, after all. Maybe. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Zero is zero. Find as many excuses as you like.

It’s my dislike for Geelong and Ablett, is it? Six goals per game against Richmond you say? Didn’t know that! Wow, and how many premierships did that cost the Tigers mate? You have it all wrong. I love Geelong! Overall finals record, 10 wins for Richmond, 2 for Geelong. When we are good enough to be premiership contenders, my preferred opponents will always be Geelong. Same principle with all AFL teams wanting Collingwood as their GF opponent. We wipe the floor with you in finals. Historically. And may long it continue, until the cows come home.

Our “dynasty” was built on the foundation of our strengths perfectly matching Geelong’s weaknesses. Without Richmond, the Cats may have ended up having a second dynasty in the space of 10 years, with a couple of more flags added to your 2022 one.

It’s you Geelong supporters who hate us, with good reason. Hatred, why would I hate such obliging finals adversaries, if I even can call you that. Sort of a part time adversary. Turn it up for a couple of quarters and then go to water, time after time. Very thoughtful and considerate of you.

Thanks for the flags mate...

4 flags in 15 years- I'll take that.
Not bitter at all.
Pity Senior missed, but he got to watch Junior and Nathan in 07, and Jnr in 09.
He's contented.
We are talking about pure individual footballing skill and talent. Ablett wins.
Robbie Flower played in how many GF's?

Really? We are talking about footy, a sport with 22-23 players in each team. The player who makes the bigger contribution to his team’s fortunes and success is the better player. Carey was a team player and helped North Melbourne achieve the only real objective that footy clubs have. Twice. Carey’s contribution as a forward, both as goal scoring and goal-creating for his teammates, was much higher than whatever Abeltt was bringing to the table with his much more one-dimensional skill set. You play as an individual, you will only win individual accolades. And pretty much nothing else...

Do you actually believe that plugging Carey into that Geelong team, and vice versa, would've landed the Cats two flags and North none instead? Otherwise it's merely an indication of North having the better overall side, which they did.

Think you might find that was the coaches paddock. Played into Careys strength

Already posted it, already quoted it, already explained it.

And yet it’s me who is talking shyte.

Idiot...
