Never wanted him.

Was another laughable messiah appointment.

Club is obsessed with name over actual ability

Exactly.

I remember those who hated his hiring copping plenty of stick at the time from our own board. Of course the mods tried to silence those voices. Just shows how little they know about the game.

Carlton cannot move the ball at all outside of a moment of brilliance from Cripps or TDK breaking multiple tackles and rampaging out of the square.

That's not a game plan.

That's give it to Cripps and inshallah.

They aren't winning a premiership with this list. It doesn't stack up. They need to fully rebuild like a Richmond and try again in another 5+ years.

Is trading Patrick Cripps to West Coast for Harley Reid an option? That might help.
West Coast are several years off contending for finals. That deal wouldn't make sense for either team or Cripps.

Carlton need to find players like Mannagh and Ah Chee up forward.

The 2nd KPD remains an issue though and it's hard to know who they could realistically go for. Even someone like Kolodjashnij for 3 years would help them.

Then there's the skilful, hard running half back hole that Houston would have addressed. Someone who can cover the wing as well. Good luck with that one. Maybe send St Kilda a midfielder and picks for Wanganeen-Milera.

Voss is an okay coach not a good or a great coach that's an issue in itself.
Carlton list management has been deporable imo they have recruited safe players in the draft & traded for a lot of average players.

SOS got a lot of GWS rejects and seemed to waste a lot of list spots over the journey which has hurt & shortened Carlton's window, I honestly reckon the window is gone 2023 was it.

Nick Austin is not fully to blame but party, he has been there for over 5 years now, and he traded aggressively into the draft giving up a lot to move up the board, going completely against what clubs do when they think in a window.

When you listen to Dimma & McRae they always want to bring in players to improve the list.
When they are contending.

For who? I have a feeling half the reason clubs are re-singing Justin Longmuir and Ross Lyon is because there's no one out there.

And Carlton have tried everything.

The favourite son, the reigning and two time premiership older head crossing over from the rival, the second-in-charge to a coaching legend who finally gets his chance, the smart guy in glasses, now the champion ex-three-time-premiership-captain.

They have tried everything and nothing happens.

Carlton just have a ****ed up board, how John Elliot isn't outright hated there is beyond me. the salary cap scandal has ****ed them probably more than Essendon's 2012 issues have them.
Ken Hinkley?

Then they’d be better off with Ken Hinkley. He won’t deliver a premiership, but with no single digit win seasons to his name, he’s as stable a coach as you’ll find.

If I were a Carlton supporter, given the past 25 years, I’d probably take that without hesitation. I believe they’ve only finished above us once since around 2001, which speaks for itself.
I hope Carlton keep Voss for as long we we kept Ken.

Or you've got to blindly follow the narrative. We've all seen that how that plays out.
