Adam Cerra and Owies were also on SEN today, Cerra with Whateley he seems to have a very level head on his shoulders we have a really good one there.

Yep also listened to Harry and Newman, they all seem to be on the same page which speaks volumes about our coaching staff.

er, he plays for us now?

I went back and took another listen. Garry Lyon was talking about players who have tagged Sam Walsh and mentioned George Hewitt, then added “but you won’t have him now”. I got confused at first and wondered if something happened to him and he won’t play on the weekend.

Yes. I know. We all know.

Rohan Connolly: Not sure there is one, really. "Ceilings" and "windows" in the AFL are a bit of an anachronism now, I think, remembering that in the past five years we've had two sides come from outside the eight the previous season to win premierships. I don't think the Blues can go that far, but I wouldn't be speechless if they did given the right circumstances and a bit of luck. They really have been impressive, backline very solid, midfield a much deeper proposition with the arrival of Cerra and Hewett, and they look really dangerous up forward with McKay and Curnow, plus some good small pressure forwards.

Jake Michaels: Go back and listen to our pre-season predictions and big calls on the ESPN Footy Podcast, I said the Blues were heading for at least a preliminary final berth in 2022 and am more than happy to stand by that after three wins from three games. All of a sudden Carlton looks to have a complete midfield with half a dozen top-end players who can rotate through the centre square, that's something I look at first when determining the quality of a side. Two great key forwards and an All-Australian calibre fullback also help! Not saying they're on track to win the flag but they're certainly a contender.

Stocks up: When the Blues needed someone to stand tall under immense pressure in the final stanza, it was defensive pairing Sam Docherty and Jacob Weitering who ensured Michael Voss starts his Carlton tenure with three straight wins. Intercept marks, halving the important deep contests, repelling opposition attacks; the Carlton list owe these two a beer.

Stocks down: That second half collapse, though... It was lapses in defense that cost Carlton a finals berth last season and while it's obvious they've made improvements, you just cannot afford to let teams back into a contest that seemed all but over in the fashion they did.

I just listened to the interview Doc had with McLachlan. Doc spoke excellently and it's amazing how ill he got and has given me a new respect in just how quickly he got back into playing shape and not only that the quality and composure he's shown on the field.

If he hasn't already he has to be given a life membership and award at the B&F - something like the Sam Docherty Most Courageous Player award or something along those lines. Most courageous is already an award but name it after him.

Also got to say that this might be the first piece of media I've ever absorbed that McLachlan didn't come across as a completely self important narcissist - which was the reason why it's taken so long for me to listen to it. I'll give Doc credit for that, too, as his story was such that it even humbled that... well I'll not go on.

I found Cerras interview a bit boring personally. Didn't show a whole lot of personality or have anything overtly interesting to say aside from the usual tropes players roll out.

my toes just curled.....
You have frikkin' hoofs!
Oh...hang on...
You are a kind of wolf/dog/zebra/tiger/thingy
Oops

Very close Myblueron. It appears the Thylacine evolved from the Dasyuromorphia. Although failed to evolve any further.

Bad news though. Scientist believe they can possibly bring the Thylacine back to life with DNA sequencing along with using the Numbat as a surrogate. Could mean we could have a Thylacine61 soon on this forum  :D
