Little feature on Saad. Talks about his dedication to his religion, football and community. A real gem.

Article also tries to put to bed the stupid notion that Saad doesn't defend. Insinuates it was just a grubby parting smear from the druggies.

Highlights that he played excellent footy during Ramadan.

Props to those that observe Ramadan.

Feature article on Will Hayes from our VFL squad.

Has this little nugget on Motlop...

He’s a great player to play with because not only does he do the flashy things, he also does the team thing. So I think the way he’s going, he can’t be too far from an AFL debut

Interesting On The Couch they're saying that the cheat sheet to having a chance to beat Melbourne is shutting down Ed Langdon.

Maybe that's why Vossy is hell bent on defensive wings. Mans a genius.

I thought that it was the opposite in that hawthorn found a way to shut down Langdon but didn't win the game.

The story was more how do you shut down their midfield especially at centre bounces. Only real way you can do that of course is to have an equal amount of talent in there. Only one team has the chance to do that.

What I took away was:

Hawthorn provided the cheat sheet despite not winning (this came down to the list not the plan in place), had St Kilda used this method they would've had given it a better shake.

I think our side matches up pretty well. Despite the ruck we are better at centra clearance and overall clearances imo. Our tall forwards are better. Their smalls are better. Their wings are better but we’re working on defending better in this area. Our KP defenders are close but with young catching up and marchbank getting closer we could come good. Our small defenders are better.

We probably have the side to match it with them. We’re the last team to beat them (of course just a preseason game but still).

By round 22 when we play them hopefully we’ve improved enough. Got games into players coming back from injury (marchbank, stocker, Pittonet, Cuningham and McGovern) and our game plan is more consistent both sides of the ball.

If we can maintain our trajectory it will be game of the season.

Cripps' season so far reminds me a lot of Kouta's 2000 one, pure dominance, dominate the midfield then go forward and kick goals, play tall and small.
cornes just said his game this year is as good as any captain's performance ever - ever! lloydy responds with "ever?" hilarious........no hype, kane.....

lloydy hosing our season down with obscure stats...........

Was that the one where we are rated 7th in attack and 9th for defence?

He’s not wrong in what he’s saying…but meh!!

We have had some very close games that could have gone either way. It’s basically what ladder % tells us anyway
