Carlton keeping its boys in blue
"From our understanding he (Yarran) doesn't want to go anywhere else and we want him to stay," McKay said. "He's a very, very valuable player.

"Negotiations were put off until the season got under way and we only got the green light a couple of days ago to start talking."

"We can accommodate everyone we want, including Robbie Warnock," he said.

An announcement on a two-year contract extension for Gibbs is expected within a week, while Kreuzer is expected to agree to terms of a new three-year contract.

"Gibbs is nearly done and Kreuzer is not far away," McKay said. "With Matthew, we'll find out in a few days. We're putting in a counter offer and we're down to the last dollars and cents."

Carlton will also renegotiate Heath Scotland's deal, which also expires this year. McKay said the Blues considered Scotland, who turns 32 this year, to be part of their future.

Carlton will get salary-cap relief next season with Jarrad Waite and Kade Simpson becoming eligible for veteran status. McKay said both players qualified under the old system, with 50 per cent of their earnings allowed to be paid outside the cap from next year.

The 28-year-old appears likely to be presented with a new deal for at least another two years.

Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said in February that he was confident Judd would play on into his 30s.

"We'll wait until the middle of the year or towards the end to see where he's at and see what he wants to do," Swann said. "I mean, he's still playing good footy."

You beauty. Sign them up. Sign them all up :thumbsu::):D

Gibbs and Kreuze accross the line by the sounds of it.

Hopefully we can get Yaz signed up really quick.

With half of Waite and Simpsons salary coming under the vets list, and space opening up from Mclean we should have plenty to sign Yaz up.

If Warnock wants to leave as well we should have heaps of space to try and snag a big fish.

Good news article to read before bed.

Thanks TheGeneral

Was not aware of this.

Free agency just got a whole lot more intresting.

Interesting that Gibbs is getting a 2 year contract whilst Kreuzer gets 3.
Glad we're not throwing about 5 year deals just yet.

Great news about Waite and Simpson coming in as veterans next year also.
Looks as though cash may not be as tight as has been previously indicated.

Still won't be fully satisfied until we have Laidler's and Warnock's signature, though.
