Isn’t Mihocek’s shoulder cooked? Who’s your KPF gonna be?

Also idk how your backline was the weakness, Moore, Quaynor, Maynard, Daicos (sometimes) are elite.
Moore and Quaynor were inexplicably shite all year and we lost Murphy who was our best defender defender. Mihoceck will be back playing round 1 with McStay.
Anyway... Haven't you heard .. it's all about your small forwards these days and unlike Carltons, ours are pretty good.

Speaking of. What's going on with Owies being shoved out the door?. Still not heard an explanation for that yet. He'd be a good fit at Tigerland now I reckon. Boon recruit!

Don't look at names, look at football and data. Pies forward line was one of the best performing in the league all year despite it being where most of our injuries occurred. Defensive group needs to pull their fingers out.

Who is carltons best 15 ?
Why is it a best 15 anyway ?
When I originally posted about it, it was a reference to the locked and loaded best 22 players, on the basis no team necessarily has a best 22, and players ranked 16 to 30 could be considered best 22 based on form, opposition, etc.

Cerra (11) and Docherty (22) the only players from Carlton's absolute best team missed more than 6 games.

Conversely, Collingwood had McStay (18), Mitchell (17), De Goey (10), Mihocek (12), Elliott (8) and Cox (7) miss more than 6 games.

Cox the only questionable one amongst that list, but he hasn't missed a game when he's been available in the three years McRae has been coaching. The other 5 would comfortably be in Collingwood's best and most important 10 to 12 players.

Because is suits his argument.

I'd say losing a 16th ranked player followed by a 18th ranked player who can both play the same position & cover for each other is worse than losing a single top 10 player.

Lazy with the variables as per usual.
That is a reasonable scenario - how often did it happen at either club?

Happy for you to invest the time and energy into that level of analysis and share the results with us all.

Thanks.

Nonetheless, would you prefer to lose Curnow for 12 weeks, or both Boyd and Kemp for the same week?

Are you familiar with the term 'Materiality'?

More than 6 ? How convenient. Walsh, De koning and McGovern all missed 6. Jack Silvagni missed 24 but you don't have him listed as top 15. Most Carlton folk would have him there comfortably.
Where did you pluck that number from anyway ? Seriously -
What a dumb perspective.

Walsh?

24 - 20 = 4. Or at least it was when I was taught subtraction at school.

Saad missed 6.

We'll add in McCreery who also missed 6.

So Docherty, Cerra, De Koning, McGovern and Saad missed 51 games between them.

Mitchell, De Goey, Mihocek, Elliott, McStay, Cox and McCreery missed 78 games between them.

Makes you wonder how Collingwood kicked any goals at all in 2024....

You really are trying to come up with some new revelation about this topic, but it's not working for you.
Is Dan Mcstay really top 15 ? He has some really , really average stats for a forward. Never kicked over 28 goals in a season . His stats are similar to Jack Martins who we just delisted . Over rated much ?

'Is Dan McStay really in the Top 15 best and most important players at Collingwood'?

You obviously didn't watch our 2023 Qualifying and Preliminary Finals, and you're showing your complete and utter ignorance equating Dan McStay with Jack Martin.

Trading away the future year after year rarely works. Even Geelong have been hanging onto their 1st rounders in recent years.

Never thought I'd see the day Collingwood fans do this much of a 180.

We were torched for years for not adapting to the modern era - ignoring the draft, buying players, third-party deals, taking shortcuts. Now the club is copping it for not buying more stars & prioritizing the draft, it's hilarious. Also we traded 1st rounders for Saad, Cerra & overpaid in FA for Williams - you want us to do it all again?

Let's hope Houston performs & stays healthy for the Pies, because this is a huge risk for them considering the tiny bit of draft capital they have.
we have a 22 year old who will keep us competing for the next 10 years. We can build around that. We arent getting anything in the draft to improve us. we are fine

Dude, Collingwood are probably the worst drafters in the league. Besides F/S & academy picks, it's been absolute rubbish for a decade.

The picks you're referring to:

2020:
Pick 17: Ollie Henry - requested trade to Geelong
Pick 19: Finlay Macrae - absolute spud who can't get a game & probably going to request a trade.

2021:
Pick 4: Nick Daicos - F/S - doesn't count.

2022:
Pick 19: Ed Allan - vanilla midfielder who can't get a game - again, spud.

At least Carlton can admit their youth is a bit bare at the moment & want to replenish that area before Tassie get in. Collingwood think they're Hawthorn or Richmond after their 3 flags, and we know how that ended up.
yet we won a flag. go figure hey.

Maybe high draft picks are meaningless in winning flags?
