I think it was a gentle way of preconditioning both supporter bases to the idea. The AFL is keen on the idea.

3. Cheating scandals
4. Penchant for choking and missing finals in dramatic fashion.
5. Dominating the wooden spoon count in the 21st C.
6. Sacking coaches.
7. Giving jobs for the boys
8. Missing finals
9. Not able to make grand finals
10. Backfiring marketing campaigns like "They know we're coming" and " Whatever it takes"
11. F&cking up really good draft hands.
12. Ruining the careers of some great players
13. Being a laughing stock
14. Depressed fans
