Yeah stuck higher on the ladder than the Pies.
A soft fixture and 4 gimme wins against historically bad teams will do that.

We arent talking who was higher on the ladder, we are talking who was better.

The Blueshakes wasted one of Crippa's finest seasons, poor Shakers going backwards now and have lost their best clubmen too!

Disastrous fade out from the Blues, from ensconced in 2nd, to falling into 8th, to being flushed down the toilet 0-60... those hard Blue hearts shattered, not sure they'll ever recover

The poor buggers have had their hearts ripped out so many times it's no wonder they have built such thick walls of delusion around themselves. It's the only way they can go on.
They'd be rocking back and forth in the foetal position sucking their thumbs if they let their minds take in the true horror show that is Carlton in the 21st Century.

A typically non factual statement from you, as always.

There was no 'disastrous fade out' from the Pies... we were playing our best footy at the end of the season after a slow start to 2024. So literally the polar opposite of a fade out.

The Pies games against the Bombers were hardly in the realm of 0 and 60, with a draw and a loss after the match being in the balance for a long way.

And finally, the Fremantle loss to Port Adelaide had zero impact on Collingwood and their finals chances. We'd already missed out by the time that game was played, so zero relevance to our 'hearts being shattered'.

So 0 from 3 for you in a standard performance from a Carlton poster.

I guess it's an improvement on 0 and 60...

No, it's just the usual conglomerate of posters in the same threads all with the same opinion about the Blues for a number of years.
We agree on 1 thing - if you think Carlton will fall behind Collingwood next year, you must think that Carlton are currently in front. Nice
Again Worm4, this has nothing to do with Collingwood. Pies have recruited very well for season 2025. They are only 1 of 4 sides I think that will go past, you asked me to be specific, so I was.

When I say ‘go past’ it’s merely a reference to the 2024 ladder.

I understand the angst of Carlton supporters as it has been such a long wait to win a flag, I just don’t think this list will win one. Jury is still out whether getting pick 3 was the correct call instead of potentially having 2 throws at the stumps with Picks 12 & 14 with such an even draft.

It’s only my opinion, I wouldn’t be getting too worked up about it.

Again, I made it very clear I had no issue with you stating we’d stall or go backwards.

You’re entitled to your opinion and time will tell whether it is right or wrong.

Ah yes, the opinion you backed up with there being no Daicos or Reid in this draft class.

Which of course is hilarious…because it’s not just those two who have come in and made an impact.

How convenient you completely ignore the other players who have done exactly that.

Will it happen again in 2025? Maybe, maybe not. I’m not in any position to make an educated claim one way or the other.

And guess what. Neither are you, no matter how many times you may want to try and convince yourself otherwise.

Not all of us want to ignore reality. But to each their own I guess.

Cheers.
You seem to be getting worked up for an opinion thread.

Though Ive got a feeling that you would argue with a brick wall given the chance.

My opinion won’t change as I don’t think pick 3 makes Carlton better next year

Just as i thought, you have nothing.

So, nothing to back it up?

Seems like when I said you were hoping it wouldn’t happen, rather than having anything of substance to support it. I might’ve actually been correct.

Imagine my shock.

You really don’t like being called out when you post crap, do you?

And yet all you caught is crabs again

Because Pick 3 is unknown. He could be the next Judd or the next Dow. Pinning your hopes on him being the saviour is a high risk strategy

You’re literally making my argument for me.

I’ve not made any claim regarding the quality of the player we’ll pick at 3.

Because as you said, he could be great, he could be crap. Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Beer Bandit over here is certain pick 3 won’t have an immediate impact.

And can’t elaborate on as to why.

Well…we know why. It’s because Carlton.

For every Dusty/Judd there is a Dow/Tyson/Billings or Hansen

I could go through the entire pick 3s for you, but you are arguing, not me so I’ll leave that up to you.

And whilst your add it please add a description of each pick 3s first season and how they impacted that side in that season to show me how they’ll make you better.

Cheers

So let me get this straight.

You’re certain pick 3 won’t do much in year 1, and your entire reasoning is because some draft picks are good and some are bad.

Meanwhile you still seem to think I’m claiming whoever we pick at 3 will make an immediate impact. Despite, of course, me not saying anything to that effect.

Yeah, maybe it’s time to sit this one out. You seem a bit all over the shop.

Carlton have 'been fine' when those players have missed?

We're talking about whether Carlton can contend for a premiership here, and the bottom line is that Carlton haven't contended with or without those players playing.

And 9 wins in a row is now 'about a dozen'?
Can any team contend without their best players?

Pies without Daicos x2, Degoey, Moore, Mihocek?

Brisbane without Neale, Andrews, Daniher, Dunkley, Zorko?

GWS without Green, Greene, Hogan, Taylor, Kelly?

Geelong without Cameron, Dangerfield, Stengle, Holmes, Miers?

The argument is as dumb as it gets. Carlton are just as reliant on our star players as most teams are.

LoL coming from the Bagger who battles most with understanding the ladder.

Even Essendon would have made finals in 2024 if they were fixtured (gifted) 4 gimme wins over historically bad opponents like Carlton were.
Essendon couldn't beat Carlton though mate, now you're just talking rubbish.
