like when you cheated the cap to win the 93 flag, funny how essendon supporters fail to remember this
It's like how Carlton supporters don't remember that Chris Judd did 3 years inside for killing a cute little puppy.

We weren't over in 93.
We had a lot of retirements and older guys go out of the team, for 93: Madden retired, Terry Daniher retired (those two were two of our highest paid players), Greg Anderson left to the Crows, Sporn, Ezard went.

In 94, Hird/Mercuri/Misiti were on more, and we went back over.

There's never even been a suggestion about 93 - and it was fully investigated.

Furthermore, go play on the freeway.

To appease a few righteous whingers, I'll be cleaning up the Mr Teenie joke.

PC madness wins again.

To be fair it ended up detracting from the actual topic, so I have no problem deleting the posts for that reason, and that reason alone.

I expected it would come to that (due to the off topic conversation) - but for the record I love the nickname and will continue to use it - if people want to read something into it that simply isn't there, then that's their issue, not mine.

On topic, I really hope Dr. Hibberd goes to Mr. Teenie - not just because of the Springfield connection, but also I feel he is far and away our best option on the bloke I consider to be the most effective FP in the AFL right now.....and yes, I'm including Cyril in that too - Mr. Teenie = gun FP.

It would seem we have no choice but to play Hank Slattery in one of these two games (unless the backline all pul up really well from this game), and whilst I hope it doesn't come to that, if it does I really hope it is against the Pies. Mr. Teenie or Jeffy would carve him up (again).

that may be the case but you cheated in 92 and 94 and they were both enough to constitute a 600,00-700,000 thousand dollar fine, so don't go acting like Essendon are the saint's of the AFL because they are far from it

Like being raging flag favorites and losing a prelim to an ordinary side that Limped into 6th at the end of the home and away.:)

Difference is that our captain was in the stands.

Yours was the one doing the choking.

Actually we were under the cap in '93 - sorry to let a little thing like accuracy get in your way.

How about we address what we mean by criminal culture....Like having all the dirty money from your criminal president that you named that cobweb filled, rickety old stand after running through your club?

You know, the same president that bragged at a corperate luncheon that whenever your players were acused once again of sexually assalting a woman, that he would just pay them off??

One of Australia's greatest white collar criminals in our history??

Or was it the infamous "Carlton Crew" that were so ingrained into the culture of your dirty crim club, that it is now on public record that a number of underworld assasinations were organised from their regular meeting point - CFC training sessions.

Or how about your recent "hero" Dicky Pratt? - the man Carlton to this day use words like "honour" and "great for the club" and "favourite son" to describe.

And yes, I am talking about the same Dick Pratt who it turns out lead a double life and had a secret family that he hid from the world (and his family).....and when he became ill he and Jeanie reportedly refused to allow his daughter to even see her father one last time. Wouldn't even talk to his mistress of 17 years.

And of course the same Dick Pratt who also had a long term relationship with a prostitute and kept her in a life of luxury up in Sydney - and no, Jeanie didn't know about that one either - he was a top bloke.

Finally it would be unfair of me not to mention the fact that he was the mastermind (and the mojor benificiary) of Australia's largest price fixing/illegal monopolising in our history - good ol' Visy who has your mercinary captain as the face of their greedy, dishonest corperation.

The fact that Carlton happily accept the finiancial benifits and even to this day honour guys like Dick Pratt rather than condem such underhanded, illegal and immoral behaviour is largely the reason that the way your club carries itself makes us sick.

When Melbourne recently put ethics and principals above money when the Energy Watch scandal broke, my first thought was "Carlton, are you paying attention to this?" - i posted this exact sentance of facebook that day, and within hours had 4 seperate Carlton buddies of mine say that Melbourne were crazy and if it was Carlton they'd have been more than happy to keep such a sponsor on.....an entirely predictable response from Carlton people.

Going over stuff that we did 2 days ago isn't really banter.

We got fined $275k for salary cap breaches. The rest was for tampering - to get Ben Doolan, so that went spiffingly well - and back tax.

Would you walk up to him, and say he looked like this monkey or that monkey, to his face?
If not, then you shouldn't say it anywhere.

Some people are sensitive about how they look, so unless I knew him I would probably hold off - nothing to do with race though. I wouldn't call him shorty or home boy either unless I knew him at least casually.

I've met Richo a few times via mutual friends, and I never bothered to tell him I think he looks like a neanderthal man. Wouldn't tell Cameron Ling he looks like Rocky Dennis unless we were mates either.....nothing to do with race in any of these 3 eg's though, more that it's not polite to call a bloke by a humerous nickname when you don't even know him.

An assosiate of mine is mates with the great Bob Skilton - he and many of Bob's mates call him chimp, and on occasions I have too....because there's already that familiarity with the man, and yes, he happens to look like a chimp - as opposed to a bloke I've never met.

Odds are Carlton 1.14 to Essendon 7.6

We were out to 11 against Geelong last year. Reckon we will win it again after being massive underdogs. Only this time, it will be sweeter.:D

Well Kong, you'd better toss a few boxes of Depends in the trolley this week, I don't see this ending well for you.
I'm hoping that Hibberd goes to him.

Prior to the Round 19 game in 2011, Betts had a pretty lousy record against us; hopefully that continues on Saturday.

One can live in hope that he's kept quiet, but I'd say the chances are pretty low at this stage.

As for the pulling of Eddie's gangsta-goalface, I doubt you'd find a bookmaker in the country willing to lay odds against it...and if it makes you bomber-loving nonces seethe in rage, then I hope it is subjected to countless super-slo-mo replays to really push you into that red zone.

Blues by 40.

With Hammer saying during the off season that no one would get promoted unless they were going to play that week it looks like Dell'Olio is playing:

Looks like we'll definitely win. I just can't see Carlton stopping him .... which makes up for the "fact" we'll struggle to stop Hampson

Oh for you fellow wogs out there who have caught the Italian affliction I managed to avoid (Carlton supportership) you'll know he'll be a slippery customer!

I don't think we'll win, but I think around $4 v's about $1.35-$1.40 would be how I see it (of course not having seen the teams means it's even more of a guess).

I think I'll have a small flutter on us under 39.5 just for fun....maybe even throw into a multi (again, small stakes for shits and giggles).

Anyone know what the line is now? Doubt we will win but I have a feeling we will cover the line
