I think everyone would agree we have had a fairly tough draw thus far and have had some decent wins..

Considering most people had us 8-12 this year are we over acheiving and where do opposition supporters rate us now?

I have us 4-6 by the end of the year and feel our draw really opens up for us from now on.
Thoughts?

I pegged the Blues between 6-8 and this season; but with some teams not playing as well as I thought they would, reckon you'll sneak in between 4-6. Playing good footy but still prone to patches of inconsistency.

Really? Every team has a bad patch here and then but we've won 21 of 32 quarters for the season. Equal with Collingwood and 1 behind Geelong, who have the most with 22.

Been very impressive over the last 5 weeks and our winning margin is 45.5, half a point behind Collingwood's who are second behind Geelong (Adelaide aside, who've only had the one win).

Whether we can maintain it, who's to say but Essendon game aside, I've been very impressed with out performances.

A lot of people don't realize how young the Blues still are, we might make the eight, we need to be consistent, but that will come after a great win today the confidence will be high at Carlton could make between 5th to eight, or they might just miss out you never know with young teams.

Our three losses were all ordinary too.

- Should've beaten Essendon (as we should've beaten them the last 5 times)
- Had momentum against Brisbane but poor kicking cost us
- Deserved a 4-5 goal loss against Collingwood, lost the plot at the end

The wins have all been quality, and overall not a bad return considering we supposedly were VFL standard without Fev.

Yeah. Judd. Superstars are what win you games. It's the same with most clubs. No Riewoldt, no St Kilda. No Goodes, no Sydney. No Pavlich/Sandilands, no Fremantle. No Hodge, no Hawthorn. No Brown, no Brisbane. Collingwood don't really have one clear star and Geelong have too many.

No doubt you have been a lot better since Judd returned. I'm not saying all the other players aren't good but Judd has lifted the side to another level.

I expect Carlton to struggle in the 2nd half of the season. I don't think they have either the cattle or game plan to be successful medium term.

Finish just outside the 8.

Hence my edit :p

Carlton, as much as it kills me to say it, are underrated. Very much so. They are a fantastic team that can match it with the rest, and beat the best on their day. Inconsistency becoming less of a problem every week and they are ready for years and years of success ahead.

Again, I hate to say it but they've done a great job over the last few years.

Behind who?

By far the hardest part of our draw is behind us, and your tipping that we can't win 6 or 7 out of 14 games from here?

Might be the way you want it to be, but little evidence to support the concept.

I rate Carlton highly. consider them an outside premiership chance. Their midfield and running and linking up is dynamite! However their depth is something I don't know much about, so an injury to judd or an Ohalpin could derail them. But i would not want to be playing them in a finals game. Any team that wins 2 straight in Adelaide going away deserves serious consideration. If they maintain their current form I would expect them to replace Freo in the top 4.
