Because... they don’t rate them?

I mean I’m sure it’s not to spite the fans.
Oscar McDonald maybe..

But your saying they rate Callum Moore higher?
If so our recruiters have a problem...

Other than that very happy with our night
  • Durdin :whitecheck:
  • Carroll :whitecheck::whitecheck:
Ease up. Still have tomorrow night, SSP and mid season draft to bolster list.

Ease up on what exactly? Having an opinion that we should have picked up another
one or two draftees tonight, when we had free rain?

Rather by passing we have missed on Ford, Winder, Wehr...

Also by going to the PSD, Rookie Draft, SSP or Mid Season Draft
we have ave allowed 17 other clubs to have a crack at talent such as
Ginnivan, Kola, Walsh, Maher, Trew, Green, Heath, Dumesny, Allison, Stevens & Newchurch

Can maybe understand Oscar McDonald, even though personally I do not want, but he has runs on the board...
But if it's for Callum Moore seriously

Damn, Winder gone

WTF would we pass and miss out on Winder, Ginnivan, Ford, Kola, Walsh, Wehr.

For hacks Oscar McDonald or Callum Moore serious Carlton WTF

it’s bloody stupid

Excuse me? Please tell me Moore isn't training with us again?

No it wasn't

We used the pick from the Saad trade plus a future to get Durdin.

Now it's time for me to take a long break from footy :) That trade period and draft did my head in, especially with SOS being so anti Carlton.

Look forward to preseason matches starting next year :) Go Blues!

It's no 2019 draft that had me doing back flips, but not at all unhappy with a haul of Durdin and Carroll.

Like Durdin but went a little earlier than I thought he may, but Carroll going slightly later than expected evens that out.

With 2 spots left tomorrow will be interesting. Would very much like us to take Lachlan Carrigan as a rookie - he's clearly the next best remaining on my board, with Kolar second.

Also intrigued to see if we go with Walsh. Glad we didn't go down that path in the national draft. Still wouldn't go there as a rookie but won't be upset if we do.

Wonder if the Durdin pick was because Adelaide may have taken him over Rowe if given the chance. Assuming Carroll wasn't considered a likely selection between our two picks, that would explain why we took the lower ranked player first.

Charlie/Harry all over again, perhaps.
I reckon you nailed it there....Cows were looking to draft a home grown small forward, so we pulled the trigger knowing if we took one, they would take the other. We obviously rated Durdin over Rowe, so we opted for him.

Carroll was just a steal.

Tomorrow may be interesting though with the pre-season and rookie picks. Big Henry still there, but * have the pick before us. Hoping we grab Marsh as a DFA.

Can someone tell me how the draft played out? Did we live trade at all? I didn't have seventeen hours free to keep track of it today.
Every ****ing pick took close to the allotted 5 minutes.

50 odd picks taken and several trade swaps and matching bids restarted the clock, pretty much sums it up. Even the teams passing took an average of 90+ seconds to say they weren't going to use the pick, there were at least a dozen of those.

If you needed to find time for the talking heads to show how much useless information they had gathered about kids no one has ever heard of, but will treat as the next messiah, then this is the gold standard. If you are looking to entertain and inform the masses ... not so much.

The only way this finished at a reasonable hour is if you live west of Perth.

It took a geological age to complete, and in that time we took 2 picks and did no trades.
If tonight is any indication of how long the 1st round of the draft is going to take each year, the idea of splitting the draft over a couple of nights, as was done last year, becomes more & more appealing.

It probably didn't help that we weren't involved in the 1st round & therefore we had to sit back & watch our pick 31 go deeper & deeper into the draft as bids were made on academy picks.

It’s savvy drafting. Now we pick needs as rookies and pay $80 000 less in the cap and only sign for one year instead of two. More flexibility. If they were worth more investment, one of 18 clubs would jump but no one did. And we picked two kids who might grow to help. No names attached, just flexible drafting.

Academies go away next year but, completely agree. Dragged a lot!

Ok, won't tell you, but can't keep a secret so apparently

So we may have passed up on an unknown quantity to again pick up a known quantity who is not AFL quality? Worse still, he will be used as first call up for a KPD spot.

Nothing will convince me he's not just a pleasant guy who happened to play for Richmond while Austin and Liddle were there.
