I saw 2 yesterday. Plenty. Let me correct my punctuation and post; hope you notice. No goal assists for the year?
So 44 then not 38.He has 6 assists.
Ridiculous. Dropped for who? We are getting them game time now for our futureAre we back to blaming the backline again?
Bruhn, Holmes and Parfitt and not getting the job done. I know it won't/cant happen but Bruhn and Holmes should be dropped after that effort. At least Parfitt has the excuse of only playing 40% game time
Funny enough he showed more than Bruhn in his first few years. If Parf is starting 22 next year we are in for another shocker.
I acknowledged in my post it can't happenRidiculous. Dropped for who? We are getting them game time now for our future
Hes bieng used in a role that doesnt suit him, same with Oconnor.I've been wavering between being pro- and anti- Sav for the past 3 years. I was in the pro camp again earlier this year but now I've had an absolute gutfull. Yeah, he does take some nice relieving grabs and makes the occasional tackle but he is also almost guaranteed to give 1 or 2 goals away per game due to his poor positioning and basic lack of a football brain. It's pretty obvious he didn't grow up playing the game.
I'll be happy if we pack him off to Port or anywhere else that offers up something decent in exchange.
It's true though. But (just about) any team can beat us too.Just read Scott's presser - did he really say we can beat any team win the comp? Again? True or not, saying that at this point after losing yet another close game is gratuitous rubbish.

I Like richo but christ you can tell he hates Geelong in every game he commontates
Did he though? Parfitt has never made enough of his chances, whereas Bruhn takes his chances- he wants to get that ball, he has an appetite for the contest. Keeps his head. That’s the sort of player we need. Lots of upside to come too with him.Funny enough he showed more than Bruhn in his first few years.
Problem is he can't play in the same team as Atkins
I acknowledged in my post it can't happen
Have never noticed Richo as a Geelong hater. Seems pretty fair to me. As does hodgey, Jobe Watson etcAside from Huddo, name one commentator who doesn't barrack against us every time we step out onto the field. Richo at least doesn't try to get our blokes rubbed out like those chumps Brian Taylor and Jon Ralph.
I noticed we had two in tight at stoppages, and there were five Pies close in as well. The rest of our guys were in the outer ring of the stoppage area. It was very hard getting the ball out if it was tapped straight down.Somewhat valiant effort.
Could have won if we took our chances.
Too many clangers.
We have a real problem getting from inside the contest to out. Bruhn and Atkins prefer to ride the tackle.
Parfitt same again. Sava a liability.
Neale pls stay in the ruck. Better then Stanley who looks injured.

There was a noticeable drop in energy and pressure 2Q. 1Q was pretty good. The question is why; players conserving or being conservative, or coaches direction?Yep.
The difference in willingness to tackle was palpable as soon as the last quarter started.
Maybe we can't go hard at it all game. Gotta be a fitness thing?
I feel like Zuthrie has improved through the seasonHe's not on his own there though.
I think the only player who has improved on his 2022 season has been Miers. The rest have either stagnated or gone backwards.
Nah, I like it. Anyone Cats fan watching the game and keeping their emotions in check would know it was there for all to see. Whether we produce it consistently for the rest of the year is the issue.Just read Scott's presser - did he really say we can beat any team win the comp? Again? True or not, saying that at this point after losing yet another close game is gratuitous rubbish.
I am going be contentious, may as well start the ball rolling. I'm so sick of holding my breath around Sav, I'll be glad when he leaves.
It's a damn rollercoaster slide of personal emotions, tell yourself give him a chance, that was a nice mark, beautiful long kick.
The ball comes in long and we wait...is he going to spoil it? Body on Sav! Yes. No. There's a certain safe pass, will he take it? No. No. No peripheral spotting or can't make the angle. Kicked to them FFS. Ten metres off his man, slow to wake up, incapable of the switch. And you wonder why Tom Stewart, the most zen person you could meet off the field, loses the plot, with his own game not up to par, and Sav, Kolo and MOC not carrying out instructions.
Yes fine, spoiled like he's paid to do, gets a soft pass tonight (especially if you've always backed him) but simply not worth the grief.
Like I’ve said in the match day thread it’s easy being a leader when things are going your way, but Stewart has this nasty habit of throwing blame around him when things are going wrongI know he's new to playing as a defender at this level but he's not new to the game.
- As per wiki he started playing Aussie rules in 2011, so that's going on 12 years now
- Drafted in 2016, which makes this 7 years on our list
It's the basics which still seem the biggest struggle with Ratugolea - knowing where to stand at stoppages, understanding of defensive structures etc. And again, newish as a defender, but surely some of those things should be adaptable from his time as a forward and applying them in reverse
I think someone else mentioned that "Frustrated Stewart" seems to most often come out when Ratugolea is playing, and I can understand that because there's been games where Stewart is essentially a defensive coach on the field, providing direct instructions to Sav on where to stand, who to man up at stoppages etc
This was most noticeable to me against Adelaide - it seemed clear instructions to Ratugolea to stick on Walker that match which worked until Walker took forward/defensive 50 ruck stoppages against Ceglar. The first quarter Sav didn't know what to do in those situations, he guarded grass waiting for Walker to be free. In the 3rd quarter, in the same situations it was Stewart providing direct instructions to Sav on who to man up, where he needed to stand etc
I'm not sure Stewart is necessarily enjoying an on-field coaching role that's being required in some of these games, especially around the basics - that doesn't excuse him from the finger pointing & at times "pissy" behaviour we're seeing from him and others in the defensive unit though. But it does feel that the in comparison to last year there's a lack of unity, cohesion and understanding, which is taking its toll and we're seeing that play out on the field
