Is better than I expected. I was expecting [emoji[emoji6]] with a pcl.

I think we’re best to prepare for it to be high grade but initial thoughts after club docs tested it were on the mid to lower end but I think weeks might be what they’re hoping.

MRI most likely completed today so I think they’d know

The MRI revealed he was actually deceased, so he will be added to our LTI list tomorrow.

Yeah, we've all seen the boo-boo. I suspect the club won't plan on having him or C Guthrie for the rest of the year.

I think we’ll see Guthrie in a Geelong jumper again. People can draw their own conclusions on others.

Lots of truths came out of this game, Mullin, Bowes and SDK are very average footballers. Smith and Mannagh should come in at the expense of Bowes and Mullin but unfortunately we have no other options with SDK. It’s common knowledge we only took Bowes for the accompanying draft pick so let’s just cut our losses and stop playing him.

Didn't they say pcl? If so I would have expected that's his year
PCL's aren't that bad.

Best case it's a couple weeks, realistically it’s 4-6, and if it’s a real bad one it’s 8-12 (Mitch Duncan circa 2021).

It sounds like this one is going to land in that mid range. Probably back for one of the Pies or Blues games would be my early guess.

I was very impressed with O’Sullivan yesterday, after being concerned with what I saw of him in the vfl last year.
If we bring in Stanley which I don’t mind for games against bigger rucks then I’d keep O’Sullivan back and play Dekoning Forward. I think we could’ve really used him forward last night particularly with the reluctance to move Jezza deeper for whatever reason.

I know absence makes the heart grow fonder but we should remember Stanley was so bad in games last year we had to sub him out for Blicavs. So those thinking he’ll solve all our problems will be disappointed.
Stanleys use will be in games like these and next week against the Lions where you want SDK in the Blicavs role around the field, and Stanley as the battering ram in the ruck.

It would be foolish to go in with just SDK and Blicavs next week.

Eight days ago SDK was voted by the coaches as equal second best on ground, up against one of the most hyped young rucks in the league in Jackson.

I really hope so, but that's why I picked my wording carefully i.e. "plan for".

If we do see him again, it'll be a bonus, not something that you plan around like the return of Tom Stewart for example.

He is genuinely my favourite Cat since Chappy retired. I have a bit of a soft spot for players who make the most of talent through sheer hard work, and I think he's one.

Yeah i must be a bit confused, I had it on my head that pcls were the old career enders for rucks

Yeah they're typically the knee on knee collisions, so a nightmare for rucks.

Of course it can go the other way, like when Tom Hickey was expected to miss three months - plays the next week - and tears Rhys Stanley a new one in a one goal game.

Just once I'd love to be on the winning end of one of those prognostications.

It's like we used up all our luck on Stevie J in 2011.
