Second in last year's B&F but might not play round 1? You're dreaming.on today's performance Atkins out as well, he might get a reprieve with Guthrie injured.
It was a scratch match. Means nothing.

O'Connor was among our best 2 or 3 in the first quarterReally? I thought O'Connor was s**t house and I'm not sure Atkins touched the ball.
MOC was a fringe player I was happy not to get a game but assumed that they might still play him.O'Connor is a walk-up start after today, as is Atkins, of course
Yep probably too hard on Atkins then, right he's in. Occonnor should be out thoughSecond in last year's B&F but might not play round 1? You're dreaming.

Glad someone else said it. I was stoo hard on Atkins, he was good last year. Just didn't touch it today. Occonnor is absolute fringe player for mine and with the performance of Clark, Bowes and mannagh then I occonnors out for me.MOC was a fringe player I was happy not to get a game but assumed that they might still play him.
After today I’m still far from convinced he is B22.
Same with Touhy… He just doesn’t look anywhere near the same anymore.
Although I do understand it’s preseason and experienced players may just cruise through this kinda game.
Personally I think the guts on the fringe need to put there best foot forward as they don’t have the wiggle room to look average.
Duncan wasn’t great but has enough credits in the bank for mine.
MOC doesn’t.
Bowes looked much more effective to
My eyes… but MOC still might cling on as Knevitt didn’t go great and I doubt they’ll play both Dempsey + Mannagh (who both looked plenty good enough).
I thought Mullin was disappointing.MOC was a fringe player I was happy not to get a game but assumed that they might still play him.

Mullin playing more than Bews indicates to me they might prefer Mullin… although I’m not sure either should be playing… but if not at least one of Touhy/MOC will.
Ahh I need to see another game now.
Bring on Essendon.
Yeah Atkins was just going through the motions.Yep probably too hard on Atkins then, right he's in. Occonnor should be out though
An Irishman in 40d heat. Surprised he didn't melt.I thought Mullin was disappointing.
Disagree, thought he was really solid.Yep probably too hard on Atkins then, right he's in. Occonnor should be out though
I think he barely touched it otherwise, though. Tbf hard to judge given how hard they were rotating but also how many of our forward entries were 2-3 smaller guys running back into an empty paddock after the Blues had turned it over.Neale had 3 shots on goal in 3 quarters or so. I wouldn't necessarily call that quiet.
If he's getting 3-4 shots on goal every week he'll play 15+ games this year.
O'Connor wasn't great or terrible today - he was solid enough. His versatile roles of defensive wingman, rebounding halfback and lockdown small defender (along with his experience) will make it harder for him to be dropped than most think. That collection of roles is a bigger need than having both Mannagh and Dempsey, even if both of them did more impressive things.Glad someone else said it. I don't think we will improve if O'Connor is still best 22.
Ed Curnow actively barracking in the commentary box now.
Yeah I thought they were going to. I think they telecast the 8 quarters of the tigers game the other dayKayo didn’t telecast the 8 quarters.
I didn’t think they would but got my hopes up a little.
Bummer.

Atkins (especially) and Bruhn I expect will be kept in barring really prolonged barren runs of form, as Dangerfield and Blicavs won't be bashing into every stoppage in every game.
Assuming Guthrie is out, Clark could be given a shot and I believe this leaves us with:
FB: Z.Guthrie De Koning J.Henry
HB: Stewart Kolo Duncan
C: Blicavs Atkins Holmes
FOL: Stanley Bowes Dangerfield
HF: Miers Cameron Close
FF: O.Henry Hawkins Stengle
IC: Bruhn Clark Dempsey O'Connor
I agree with CHAWKTS that it's hard to see both Neale and Dempsey in the same (healthy) side, so it'll come down to structure/attributes.
Mullin or Tuohy I'd see as contenders for the "O'Connor" role and I promise it's not just because they're all Irish.
Oooooh you at the ground watching the vfl guys?I like the look of Lawson Humphries. Silky skillful, took a good grab earlier. I’m excited already.
I didn’t know Willis was so solid looking. Wiltshire good kick from 50 earlier. Mannagh looks good.
