I am a NNWU favourite supporter. I was wondering what other people thought of Ash Thompson as a footballer. He is the best player Nyah have ever had.

i would agree that ash is the best player nyah has ever had......he has made state for nsw on 2 occasions in primary and secondary school and was also drafted to the sydney swans when ron barrasi was coaching

How much have you seen though russ? Thompson by the length of Dermott Breretons football boots.:thumbsu:

A fair bit James. Wasn't Pat Phelan rated the best ever player in the CMFL in the Guardian best 50. Dean Bennett was 2 or 3 so if Thompson is better than Phelan he must also be better than Bennett. Thompson is not fit to clean Bennett's boots.

i watched patty phelan play when i was a wee lad, easily uniteds best player. poor old duffin wouldn off even heard of him. ive not seen much off pete duffin though. i heard him and shane flemming may be rotating the captaincy out there this year.

My apologies Russell, the point that I was eluding to was that Ash is better than Curran in my opinion. Good point on Phelan, and I do agree that Bennett is better that Thompson. However, if Deans boots were dirty, I think the Swan Hill Football Club would allow Ash to give them a quick wipe with a damp cloth.:thumbsu:

Hey guys.

I'm just wondering if any of you have any news on the Balranald team. I use to live in Balranald, but I now live on the Sunshine Coast, and I've lost all news source about the CMFL. Can the Bal Roos go one step further this year?

Thanks

How are Woorinen shaping up this year, any improvment expected on last year? Word is they have a few players from Darwin, there Colts ended minor premiers last season, will they have any decent young boys stepping up?

I think it will be out of Worrinen and Lalbert to be the big improvers of the league, but I'm leaning towards Woorinen more they don't have to improve much to be alot better than what they were last year because they were terrible with the exception of a few. I think there are a few people around the league and out at Lalbert getting a little ahead of themselves. As you can tell by the article in the Guardian the coach is the only bloke who isn't pumping thier tyres up!

Matt Curran- much better from what I've seen.

I love Matt two. He can play anywhere on the field and he is so skillfull. I would love to play with Matt in the forward pocket won day. I have so many heroes out at Nyah, I just wish the Boulton brothers played footy at the moment because if thay could play football like thay play cricket we would win the premership.

You are in an elite group with them 2 guys tripod. Tell me why they call you Tripd again, is it because you have 3 extremely long legs? What about other clubs in the area much recreational drug use going on? I'm not talking no-doze and sugar gel satchels the real stuff. Mitsubishi's, Chicago Bulls etc.

A couple of playrs at Nyah drive Mitsubishi Magna and I have a Chicago Bulls hat.

What about a CMFL tipping comp on here? Rnd 1

NNWU V Bal - Nyah fav. for spoon, Balranald win but unknown quantity.

Woor V Kerang - Tigers win at home early, close game.

Lal V Cohuna - Lalbert at home, new Cohuna bloke Chris Eddie marquee player.

SH V Boga - Swans to win, Boga performed well in night series in short format but might struggle in full length game.

L/G V K/B - Leitchville at home some young guys with a little more experience, Trev Ryan playing and kicked a mini bag in practice match.

T/M V Tyn - match of the round. Flip of the coin. Tooleybuc maybe a little underdone, Tyntynder just.

Well mate, like you said, i went and done some homework on Hughie and found out that he played nearly 60 senior VFL games and about 12 reserves games in four years at that level with all of them returning from injury. So i hope you have a resume like that when you're 22. We should try and get that orange lady to play for the Swanners in 06 if she is that good. Not sure if we could afford her though. So are you going to put a name to your brave comments? Can't wait for Hughie to run out against Lalbert this year.

HA HA Hugh Hugh. They were right you do get nasty. I've been fu cking with you mate if you have a good think about things you will know who iam. I dont play at lalbert i played against you last year. In fact i dont even play in this league. The boys here Just wanted to see you go off, everyone else had a bit to say about you . You have a lot of support thats good mate have a good one we will be in touch. Sorry if i was wasting anyones time.

Here's my tips for Rnd 1 Cliftons lookalike,

NNW v. Bal. Bal by a long margin in this one.

Woora v. Kerang. The blues should get the points this week, We are not looking like much with gavin kerr hamstring most likely not comin up this week.

Lal v. Cohuna. Lalbert by 20 goals

Swans v. Boga. Swans just, should post a more skilled team this time round.

L/G v. K/B. Barham for the win.

T/M v. Tyn. Tyntynder should roll tooleybuc this week, im tipping by a fair margin with Ryan O'Sullivan off to SANFL
