This place is gonna blow up when we take Tsatas instead of Wardlaw, before announcing AD as CEO

Surely Clarko doesn't get to decide who his boss's boss is?
It’s not about Clarko deciding. It’s about Clarko agreeing with Sonja and Viney and the board, that the CEO is the right person.

The pillars they all speak about, which is a non-negotiable for any successful club - Strong alignment between the Coach, CEO, Head of Footy & President.

They need to work well together. If you get one wrong it f**** everything.

Not sure why we would head down this path TBH.
Tasmania is on the agenda and suddenly AD starts applying as CEO?
The cynicism amongst the rank and file would be too much of a distraction at very least.
There are other candidates, let's just focus there.

The Plan is coming to fruition, Clarko as coach, Sonja as pres, AD as ceo AND a vacant Tassie (yet to be built and funded) stadium needing to be filled by a club.

Remember the calls for Clarko to coach a Tassie team, well we are well on the way to having that transpire if AD comes on as CEO.

Call it tin foil hat if you want but the AFL will make a deal with Rockdick or Rebecca opposite of Black or whoever is in charge down here by then, THAT if we (Tassie) take an existing team (US) that we (Tassie) won’t have to stump up the cash for the stadium!

There will be rejoicing in the streets to the tune of $750m being able to now be spent on Hospitals, schools, pork barrelling for the election that would be around the corner by then.

The fans will be ecstatic as they can then avoid sitting in the ED with ED for 12-24 hours before being seen or 48 hours waiting for a bed on a ward and because of this all will be forgiven for “forcing” the South Hobart PotoRoos onto us.

Also moving a team would take away the need for compromised drafts for years as they already have an established playing list.

And we take Euge back.

I truly believe we would just be stronger as a club with Euge back in an official capacity.

Be it in the CEO role (jeez what a power team that would be Clarko, Sonja, and Euge).

Or on the board.

It has been mentioned on here previously that he probably has too much on currently to be able to take on a board role with us. I am not sure of our capacity to offer him something too good to refuse for the CEO role.

However I don’t believe we could ever have enough people who will always be all in for the fight to better the NMFC and Euge is absolutely that. Imo he’s as much of a shinboner as Sonja is.

If Eugene was gettable he’d be amazing.

Re AD I despise what he did to try to force us out.

With 15 years to reflect on that time I have to wonder though who was driving the relocation push. Was it the AFL commission or was it AD and the AFL executive?

Was AD given his orders by the commission and as CEO doing his job to enact their orders or did he drive the push and take it to the commission?

Generally a board or commission would set the agenda for something so monumental and then make sure that the executive has the resources to carry out their wishes.

AD was definitely the face of the relocation push but was he the driver or just doing his job as CEO?

Can anyone with better memory than me recall who actually pushed for the relocation - the commission or the executive?

If it was a directive and driven by the commission and AD was doing his job as CEO I’d be comfortable with him as CEO.

On objective measures he did a very good job as the AFL CEO, his only real failure was losing the battle against North.

JB said the bollocking he copped from Mike Fitzpatrick was one for the ages. So I assume it was board-driven. Andy and Gil were still complicit though, they can all GAGF.

Football Australia’s Peter Filopoulos interviewed for North Melbourne CEO role
www.heraldsun.com.au

One of Australia's leading soccer executives is in the mix to take over North Melbourne.

The Herald Sun can reveal Football Australia's head of marketing, communications and corporate affairs Peter Filopoulos has been interviewed for the job vacated by Ben Amarfio.

Three clubs — North Melbourne, Collingwood and Essendon — plus the AFL are in the market for chief executives and the Kangaroos are open to looking outside the footy bubble.

While other candidates appear to be higher on the Kangaroos’ shortlist, Filopoulos boasts an impeccable resume and spent five years at Arden St earlier this century.

He has worked as a chief executive of South Melbourne FC (1993-1999), Perth Glory (2015-2018) and Football Victoria (2018-2020).

He was also chief commercial officer at Swimming Australia and worked as a director of sales, marketing and corporate affairs at North Melbourne (2002-2007) and Marvel Stadium (2007-2014).

Filopoulos started working in footy at Hawthorn as director of sales and corporate marketing from 1999-2002, but has been out of the AFL system since leaving Arden St in 2007.

However Filopoulos’ background has him a highly-sought after candidate and those who have worked with him have praised his passion for gender balance in the workplace.

The Kangaroos have cast their net wide and it's understood more than 20 candidates have been interviewed for the role.

Jen Watt, who is general manager of commercial operations and partnerships at the Melbourne Cricket Club, is considered a frontrunner.

Watt is highly-regarded by MCC boss Stuart Fox and has a strong relationship with former Melbourne and Essendon chief executive Peter Jackson, who is helping North Melbourne secure its new boss.

Watt spent 14 years at the Demons, overlapping with Jackson, and was awarded the AFL’s Graeme Samuel Scholarship in 2016.
The Herald Sun revealed on Friday the Kangaroos and Bombers had both reached out to Collingwood boss Mark Anderson, who resigned on Thursday.

But Anderson is far more likely to pursue the Essendon job if he remains in the AFL.

Former AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou has been helping the Roos in the background while external recruiting firm Six Degrees is leading the appointment process.

Meanwhile, industry speculation has linked Craig Kelly to Collingwood’s top job.

But Kelly is known to be reluctant to take up an official role at the club while his son, Will, is on the list. Kelly did not return the Herald Sun’s calls on Friday.

As reported on Thursday, former Essendon chief executive Xavier Campbell plans to travel to France shortly with his wife after launching a beer called ‘Travla’ with his Echuca mate.

So we dropped amafio because he wasn't a football person only to bring on another non 'football' person.

Fascinating that is your take away from that article,

Whilst ignoring:

Do you just enjoy moaning?

I'm personally very happy that the club are going through such a thorough process, casting the net wide, to find the best possible person.

So we dropped amafio because he wasn't a football person only to bring on another non 'football' person.
Which bit of
'worked as a director of sales, marketing and corporate affairs at North Melbourne (2002-2007) and Marvel Stadium (2007-2014)' and 'started working in footy at Hawthorn as director of sales and corporate marketing from 1999-2002'
is 'non football'?

Peter Filopoulos was highly regarded when at Arden St earlier this century. Certainly has built his reputation with that other code. Interesting candidate. Nice bloke way back when. Looks a good, strong candidate.
