Peter Filopoulos was highly regarded when at Arden St earlier this century. Certainly has built his reputation with that other code. Interesting candidate. Nice bloke way back when. Looks a good, strong candidate.

Was a top bloke a long time ago
However time changes people
Have known him very closely for 30 years
I don’t know how I feel about this, I’m still trying to digest it all.

If Eugene was gettable he’d be amazing.

Re AD I despise what he did to try to force us out.

With 15 years to reflect on that time I have to wonder though who was driving the relocation push. Was it the AFL commission or was it AD and the AFL executive?

Was AD given his orders by the commission and as CEO doing his job to enact their orders or did he drive the push and take it to the commission?

Generally a board or commission would set the agenda for something so monumental and then make sure that the executive has the resources to carry out their wishes.

AD was definitely the face of the relocation push but was he the driver or just doing his job as CEO?

Can anyone with better memory than me recall who actually pushed for the relocation - the commission or the executive?

If it was a directive and driven by the commission and AD was doing his job as CEO I’d be comfortable with him as CEO.

On objective measures he did a very good job as the AFL CEO, his only real failure was losing the battle against North.
Of course it was board driven but that doesn't change anything for me. Just following orders doesn't cut it with some things.

Mate I can write an essay about his personality right now, and it wouldn’t be good reading

But I need to take emotion out of it, and look at his body of work, his most recent work for FFV, for the tip, seemed to do ok at Perth Glory, I don’t know GK, but personally speaking, No from me

Did he give you a 1 star rating?

The Plan is coming to fruition, Clarko as coach, Sonja as pres, AD as ceo AND a vacant Tassie (yet to be built and funded) stadium needing to be filled by a club.

Remember the calls for Clarko to coach a Tassie team, well we are well on the way to having that transpire if AD comes on as CEO.

Call it tin foil hat if you want but the AFL will make a deal with Rockdick or Rebecca opposite of Black or whoever is in charge down here by then, THAT if we (Tassie) take an existing team (US) that we (Tassie) won’t have to stump up the cash for the stadium!

There will be rejoicing in the streets to the tune of $750m being able to now be spent on Hospitals, schools, pork barrelling for the election that would be around the corner by then.

The fans will be ecstatic as they can then avoid sitting in the ED with ED for 12-24 hours before being seen or 48 hours waiting for a bed on a ward and because of this all will be forgiven for “forcing” the South Hobart PotoRoos onto us.

Spewed in the Uber.[/

Relax lads
No spewing or 1 stars

Plus his dad was a cabbie, so he probably stayed loyal to taxis ( don’t blame him)

We both started uni at the same time, 1987.
We were involved in the same social/ cultural group
National union Greek Australian students
He was the Swinburne delegate, I was the Melb uni delegate

Like I said we were mates for a long time, but life took us on different paths ( marriage, kids, work etc) so we lost touch.

We still have many friends in common.

Dont believe for one moment he doesn’t understand AFL

He’s mad Richmond, and before he got involved in the soccer executive he did well at North / Hawks and maybe Richmond ( long time ago) in the membership/ marketing areas.

However, I would be staggered if he could form a formidable combination with Clarkson, I just don’t see it

Female president and female CEO is the way to go for me. NMFC have long been pioneers. We would be the first club with 2 women on the most important seats of power. Jennifer Watt seems well credentialed to me. Hopefully we can get a few more games at the G.

Uber Roo Ah, so you're concern is less that he's got a rotten character and more that he's just not the right type to handle/compliment Clarko?

Had me worried for a bit there. Thanks for the contribution.

Rotten ?? No
Rotten to me means dodgy/ corrupt, he’s none of that.

I’d love to say more about his personality but I know there’d be a few in here who know him , that I can’t be fked with the fall out / if there was one

But he’s not for us

What's your issue SmallRoo? Why the thumbs down?

Hire her because she is the best candidate not because she’s a woman. Couldn’t care less what gender our CEO is, as long as it’s the right person for the job.
Fair call.

BFNAAK?

I'd be keen to hear from the candidates and see what their pitch is, where they see the club at, where they want to take us and how they plan to do it.

I still think the major failing of recent CEOs/Presidents has been the lack of a plan on substantially increasing the membership base in Melbourne, and really having done nothing to make inroads. Where we want to be in 10, 20, 30 years from now it has to start from someone in the present.

Best president and best CEO is the way to go for me.

50% of the way there. But we're a fairly crappy football club at the minute. Stuff being pioneers. We just need the best people in the most influential roles.
